My bad Clutch, you only say the bad stuff about Cuttino in the chat. ------------------ Cuttino Mobley Online
hehe yeah I did unload on him after the Jazz game (screaming out the spelled-out "SOB" 3 times might have been overdoing it).... but you got to understand I take a loss to the Jazz harder than most. And the Rockets toyed with my emotions on the comeback... I like Cuttino -- I really do. But he frustrates me a lot. And I think it's kind of juvenile after one big shot for people to unload "I told you so"s. For me, it's not a matter of whether Cuttino's shot is good or not, but whether or not he gets off a good shot. Like when Moochie nailed the 35-foot prayer in Golden State? Mobley held on to the ball way too long. I didn't forget in my recap that Mobley made a bad decision just because we won and the shot ultimately was good. Next time we won't be so lucky. Overall I love Cuttino... met him twice at 1999 and 2000 training camp and the word I would use to describe him is "fun". Great offensive talent. More court savvy and a better overall game and he'll be completely lethal. BTW, you run a terrific site about Cuttino ... ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
Thanks Clutch. I was just joking. PS - The AP released the photo of Cat's game winner. I have it on Cuttino Mobley Online's homepage. ------------------ Cuttino Mobley Online
Nice photo At both training camps I did. Matt Maloney was the only one who knew the site well that acknowledged he did atleast. Maloney's brother is a big fan of the site.... funny story: He used to post a lot on the old BBS and he said he was Maloney's brother. I wrote this long, mocking post in a "yeah, right" tone. He emailed me politely, assured me he was and told me to call him. Sure enough ... Paul (Matt's brother) was very cool. He assured me he, Matt, Mario Elie and Clyde Drexler checked out the site often. Sounded so far-fetched to me... but he ended up getting me "backstage passes" sort of speak in 1998 to a Rockets-Jazz game in Utah (at the time I lived in Utah). My damn luck though -- Hakeem, Willis and Elie all were suspended the day before in an altercation in Phoenix... Hakeem and Antonio McDyess threw some punches and Willis and Elie left the bench. None of those three were there. We lost the game, but I met Maloney briefly and thanked him for the passes... also met Brent Price (the coolest of all, with Barkley a close second), Rodrick Rhodes, Drexler (very cool), Larry Smith and of course Barkley. It was fun ... Anyhow, at training camp 1999 Maloney remembered me. Also, a few months before he had to answer questions from Channel 11 on the air about a "ClutchCity.net report" about him potentially negotiating a deal to play in Barcelona, Spain (which was printed in a Hispanic Hoops magazine)... Matt dismissed the report. Was cool hearing Giff say the site on the air though Anyhow, you got the long version. ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
The "backstage passes"/postgame passes, are the coolest. I even got Dream to sign for me! I hope to get them on Monday. Clutch, when did you live in Utah and WHY? ------------------ Cuttino Mobley Online
Whatever happened to Dan Langhi's brother? He posted on here a few times. ------------------ When we tire of well-worn ways, we seek for new. This restless craving in the souls of men spurs them to climb, and to seek the mountain view. -- Ella Wheeler Wilcox
Watch all the posters like Francis3, StevieFranchise and all the others with Francis-handles suddenly get a lot more respect. He must be talking about ClutchCity.net. If he was talking about that article from Ogden, he'd have said the newspaper. Maybe, he's referring to NBATalk here, but I can't imagine he wouldn't be including cc.net. ------------------ RealGM Rockets Draft Obligations Summary Gafford Art Artisan
He could be talking about espn boards, promotional chats, and promotional email sessions. You know, when he fields questions. So Clutch, at training camps, do you represent yourself as cc.net media. Did any players know you as such? That would be a good indication, then their curiosity might be sparked to take a looksee.
dude...you resurrected this thread to say that?? Oh wait! I'm guilty of the same thing! ------------------ Scene: Watching the Utah-Houston game at home. My daughter: So, those guys in the dark uniforms are the bad guys?? Me: Yes baby, You nailed it on the head!! I'm so proud of my baby!!
