I know a lot of NBA players who wish 18pt 8 rebounds a game was considered a "bust" in just their 3 season.
Is there anyone else sick to death of "Francis Threads?" Francis was spoted at the Oscars, Francis seen with P-Diddy, Francis speaks out against fur traders, Francis seen with Madonna, Francis interviewed by "whoever,".....ad nauseam! He is GONE! He plays for ORLANDO! Newsflash, He is no longer with the Rockets! Take it to the NBA Dish, please. Repeat, HE IS GONE!!!! How can we miss him if he never goes away?!
Well, the forum description says you can talk about former Rockets. But, this story mentions Yao Ming and him eating and that's definately something of interest to a lot of people this board, though I have a feeling that they already knew about this.
he doesnt get threads asking about who his gf is, what car he drives, or how many socks he goes through in one day
O.K. let's talk about Francis. Here is a Newsbreak, he is in a game against the Wizards. In the 3rd, he is 0 for 9 from the field and has seven, yes, count them, 7 turnovers. In all fairness, he has 8 assists. Doesn't sound like he is going to have a career night, though.
OK, let me explain as to why I posted this thread on the BBS... First of all, it is pretty much going to be a rule-of-thumbs that whenever Francis is interviewed ANYWHERE, there is going to be Rockets talk, as in comments about his former beloved team and beloved city. THAT is why I posted this thread, because I was sure Houston would come up more than once in the conversation, and I was right on. Did he say anything significant? Not really, but there is no way to know what he would have said before one watches the show. Can someone please tell me what JVG will talk about next week on his weekly radio interview? Sorry, but as Francis speaks, the Rockets will be mentioned somehow, some way in the conversation. So does it belong in the GARM? Yes, it does, as long as the Rockets are mentioned. So this is not really about Francis, but rather about what is said about the Rockets whenever he opens his mouth. --Tiger
Francis finished 1 for 12, 7 turnovers, and 9 assists, but Orlando won anyway. Bulletins as "Francis News" happens.
Tell the whole story about what happen during the game. Francis true enough was having one of the worse games in his career offensively yet he kept everyone involved with a game high 9 assists and he made the key jump shot that won the game for Orlando. He couldn't find the mark for the entire game until it counted when they needed him to step up and make a shot. Thats what great players do when having an off night keep everyone involved and make the key shots at the end of the game. He also hit all of his free throws 4 in the last minute when the game turned into a free throw contest at the end. Arenas missed five in a row. Thats the difference between a great player and a real good one. A real good one will take 30 shots and get 30 points and figure that they did there job. But a great player will take what the defense give him and keep his team involved and hustle for rebounds; whatever they can do to help his team not just his stats. Thats what Franchise did kept everyone involved and won the game. Did you even watch the game or are you just going by stats because we all know stats will always give you the entire story. Except great players don't following 9assists of team involvement with 7 turnovers of ME involvement.
You don't have to explain why you started this thread just because some guy is acting like a kid throwing a tantrum. When kids start acting like that, just ignore them.
You make a good point, but I always try to be respectful and explain myself/my comments when someone requests I do so. I thought I would just let people know why --Tiger
