Kenny Thomas is the worst finisher in the league, maybe it just as well for him to stand behind the three point-line.

ill admit their are exceptions but predominantly most pfs stay in the paint not the three point line..thats where the guards belong..kt needs to be banging inside for off rebs instead of jacking up threes..hes not a nowitzki, croshere type of shooter..walker jacks up too many as it is but the celts have no direction..i dont mind 15-18 ft jumpers but 3s are too much.as for him being our best pf i guess you forgot about mo taylor..the man has started rebounding and score with the best of them. im not a kt basher, i just think he should be banging inside rather than jacking up senseless three pointers

I will stay away from the KT and his three point shooting hornet's nest.

But in regard to the other comments with Steve's trash-talking. I really don't feel that trash talking and getting players riled up will necessarily affect how well they play against you. What it does effect is the method the player decides to take when playing against you. KG was going to light us up anyway. Our frontcourt is hurting bad, and he is just a phenomenal player.

The trashtalking can be used as a tool, if you know how. Gary Payton has done it for years. You can psyche out your opponents if you get into their head. Personally, I could take it or leave it, because it seems like horsesh*t basketball to me, but I can understand its benefits. My problem is that I doubt Steve does.

    DaDakota is right.

Thomas' does have a decent 3 point shot, and it helps to keep the other PF honest. Thomas may not have a terrific percentage, but you have to respect his shot at least, if you're guarding him. This allows better penetration by the guards.

You say that he's only at 34% because of a recent hot streak... but so what? Basketball can be a game of streaks. I don't think many people complained about Eddie Johnson... now he could go HOT to COLD quickly (and vice versa).

More than anything else, Francis needs to avoid publickly criticizing ANY teammate. He wants to be a leader... part of that, is by ENHANCING everyone around you, not tearing them down.

DaDakota, I totally agree with you, including ur singature! Wow never realized that! I have always believed in the Darwin's theory of evolution because school taught us that, even though it conflicts with my religeon, you are making me think alot now (what the hell does this got to do with hoops ;p)

Steve needs to stop jawing with superstars and show his game in the basketball court instead. Many of you guys need to stop thinking that our 'superstars' are untouchable and everything they say or do are just A-OK. They do make mistakes you know! *cough* Like Hakeems crap about retiring/not retiring and his demand to get more involved because he feels that he is not used well enough but he doesn't relize that he just SUCKS now topic *cough*

    Runnin Raven,

Gary Payton is a punk, and has NEVER won anything, and he won't because he is a TERRIBLE teamate.

Steve should let his game do the talking, I would rather he be respected across the league, and not thought of as a punk.

I don't care how Francis is respected throughout the league as long as he wins. To be honest, there's too many people who already have a negative image of him to really make much of a difference anyway.

Fans need to understand that this is a game. What these players do on the court, from Steve Francis to Gary Payton to Karl Malone to Kobe Bryant, is what they do on the court. I can't stand the last two, but I also realize it's just a game, and the last two just happen to be big rivals of my team. People need to get over this whole class bullsh!t and have fun watching.

    Rocketman,

    Class is not BS.

You and I are just going to have to differ.

I would rather root for a classy organization, then a bunch of thugs.

If the Rockets ever get too far over that edge, then my 2 year old son and myself will quit watching.

Personally, I think the scientific evidence describing, in detail, mans' evolution from ape to human (through the varying genus and species--homoerectus, neanderthal, etc, etc) is very convincing. There are still single-cell organisms too, and life evolved from that.

AS far as KT goes, I always have thought he sucked. He is a serviceable backup PF in this league, but I think he gets too many minutes and would prefer to see Carlos Rogers over KT anyway. We need some bigmen who can do the dirty work. Los seems to like to do that kind of stuff. KT seems to like to be the star on the court when hes out there, which he isnt.

KT, thinking he's a star out there when he's on the court? I havent seen him ever try to be a star out there. I loved it when he scored the layup on Mihm and said " haha rook". Kenny's the man. Haven, tell me one time where Steve has publicly criticized ANY of his teammates. He never has, he's talked about the Twolves and the Spurs backcourt this year, thats about it. And by the way his comments were true. Alot of you need to cut this BS about trashtalking, because everybody in the league trashtalks from Mugsy Bogues to good citizen Steve Smith. It's part of the game, whether it be at the highschool level or the NBA, deal with it. Steve is respected by players around the league, but to some fans who only absorb what the media tells them and their preconcieved notion of him, they view him as a punk. I could care less about those fans. If you noticed the Seattle game Gary and Steve didnt trashtalk the whole game which shows me the respect he's earned from the biggest trashtalker in the league. Other than players from the Jazz and Grizzlies I cant think of any players that think Steve is a punk. Would you rather have a guy like Steve who is gonna talk some smack and get his teammates pumped up or a guy like Mike Bibby or Andre Miller who will never be team leaders?

    TPL,

Bibby and Miller will never be team leaders....WOW, did your crystal ball tell you that?

Come on, you assume that Steve will be a leader, I hope so, but I think Miller has a good chance to lead too.

    Time will tell,

By the way, would you say Stockton was a leader?

    Off topic . . . sort of . . .

I started a thread in the Hangout forum for those of you that would like to talk about DaDakota's signature.

    On topic,

Let Francis talk, as long as he can avoid any Shaq-like stupid quotes.

As for KT, if he is open and has time to set up, he should shoot the three. The better he gets at that shot, the more defenses will be forced to spread. I'll take KT's 3s over the ubiquitous 3 pt attempts that we had to endure from the Chuckster in the last couple of years.

Dadakota, Stockton was a vocal leader in timeouts and was also a leader through his PLAY. As for andre miller and Mike bibby, why dont you ask Sidney Lowe if he thinks Mike Bibby is a leader. He'll sure as hell tell you no. Bibby never is vocal in practice, games, anywhere! As for Andre, he's a good player but he like Mike is quite and doesnt know when to to try to take over games. Notice in tuesdays game that he only became offensive minded in the 2nd half. And as for Steve, you say I hope he will become a leader? Well, Steve already is this team's leader. Am I the only one who has noticed him calling for team huddles during the game to get everybody on the same page? If that's not a sign of a leader then I dont know what is.
