I'll take any team with Kobe and Shaq on it. They're the two most dominating players. Throw in Steve, Mashburn, and the PF that better represents "me," Malone or Brand or whoever and they will win.

I was reading the Chronicle yesterday, and it said that Phil Jackon named one of his kidney stones Kobe because it wouldn't pass. :)

Steve Francis pushes the tempo?? If you call skipping up court, racking up 8-second violations and getting the "offense" started with 13 seconds or less on the shot clock pushing the tempo . . .

I don't know if calling Francis "selfish" is fair. It all amounts to the same thing. I just don't think he's much of a point guard.

Hey JR, how did you like Steve's performance against the Nets with flu like symptoms? I wonder how many times you've gone to work with the flu and a sore back...

Steve is not a selfish player.

He might not have the skills to make good judgement and make good passes consistenly, he will improve.

Cat on the other hand, probably belongs to the me team, however he's not all star.

I agree that Garnett and Mashburn are not selfish (hell Garnett definitely isn't). Steve is not selfish either, he just has not clue how to run plays. But Shaq and Kobe are selfish. No matter how you try to sugar coat it Shaq and Kobe are amongst the most selfish players alive. Shaq we all know about, get the ball, elbow, shoulder another elbow to throw the defender off balance dunk. Unless he's hacked or can't score he won't pass. And Kobe, he has the most deceptive assist numbers ever. I don't consider driving into the lane and into trouble being surrounded by 4 players and kicking out passing. Iverson has an excuse, he's the only PLAYER on the team. What's Kobe's excuse?

It was actually the doctor, which I think is even funnier.

What exactly is the point of this article. The only player on that list who has low assists numbers for his position is Francis. By the way, did you see that Garnett had a triple double last night before the fourth quarter. That's just sick.

    Ridiculous!

Take any one of these players away from their respective TEAMS and see how far the TEAM gets.

That threw me off cuz I'm not sure what you are trying to say. However, KG won't help Minnie win a championship (even though he's not selfish) and Mashburn sure as hell can't help NO win a championship (even though he's not all that selfish), so that leaves Kobe and Shaq. You've all seen that neither of them can't win a championship alone. The only reason Kobe and Shaq can win despite being selfish is cuz they are 2 of the most dominate players in the game AND they play on the same team. In all cases, better teamplay means more chance to win, the exception of course being LA. SF is not nearly at Kobe's leve (sorry to say it kids) and might never be and Yao is definitely not at Shaq's level yet. To be selfish and win you have to have the skills to back it up. In other words, if we play any more selfish than we already do, we'll never get anywhere unless Yao become better than Shaq REALLY REALLY quick.

    MFW2310,

You make it sounds like "our team is selfish" is a fact, when it's, in fact, an opinion.

I definitely think the Rockets are unselfish, and I think Steve doesn't take enough shots. Of course, it's also about the type of shots he takes. But I think we CAN have 2 players taking 20 shots (Yao and Steve) with the 3rd offensive option getting around 14 shots (Mobley OR MoT).
