ok, I finally made it thru the rest of this worthless thread.. some thoughts.. nice job codell, slapping down Yetti and ragingfire in the same thread? nice! CRC...the inferior beer he referred to is not Fosters..that was a jab at Smeg's beer of choice. Yetti referring to himself as a most respected poster? hardly son..you wouldnt even be in the voting for that accolade. as soon as you can take off the Yao colored sunglasses and objectively watch the games...maybe. You make lucid posts, but they are normally similar to a blivet. djunior, so what you are saying is that no matter who the coach is or what role players he brings in to help or what system he plans to run the Rockets arent going anywhere with SF and CM? Why dont you go jump on the bandwagon of some other team and save us the displeasure of ever having to read the crap spewing from your keyboard since you obviously know absolutley zero about NBA basketball or common sense for that matter. at the very least, wait untill you have seen more than two freaking worthless preseason game to make your determination over whether of not the Rocket's offseason changes are going to advance the team or not. moron.
Mobley was the most selfish player on the Rockets ast season. This is a fact, its not bashing, its observation. It needs to be corrected if the Rockets are going to play Team Basketball. I saw all 82 games. I hope as every sincere Rockets fan should that JVG will fix this problem.
Yetti, Read the interview!! JVG doesn't seem to think that Mobley is selfish or that it is a problem. He flat out said that it was a media myth, which alot of people on here agree with. Geez..............
Let me give you a hint. This world is not always black and white. If you don't understand that Jeff or other adults, sometimes give lips service, then you will be very disappointed when the truth hit you in the face one day! I don't care what you guys were talking about. I jumped in only because I just found it funny for your about-face. You shot Jeff down not long ago before he was hired and now hang on to every word he says ... as long as he praises your beloved Rudy. I like Jeff and wanted him hired but I am not so naive like u. I know when he tells the truth and when he B.S. And do you know how? Don't just listen to what he says, watch what he does! And that advice is free btw.
ragingfire, 1) Saying that JVG is giving lip service is just your excuse for saying that he is lying. Here is a quote from the chronicle today: That doesn't sound like a coach that gives "lip service" or likes to be diplomatic. JVG is a straight shooter. JVG does not want to be the player's friend. JVG is a self proclaimed "mother****ing mother****er". Nice try though. 2) You lie once again. I never shot down JVG. Not once. The only thing I have ever done is defend Rudy. I never said JVG was not a good coach. I never said we were going to be worse off with JVG over Rudy. However, I have said, time and time again, that I support JVG and everything he tries to make us a winner. 3) Like Rudy, I believe that JVG has integrity. So call me naive, but I will value his take on something every day on the week and twice on Sunday. 4) (in response to your last post about the JVG quote) Just keep saying that JVG is being diplomatic and trying to sell himself to people. IMO, thats being naive to a fault because you can't admit that JVG is telling the truth because your opinion is different from his. Sucks to have the coach come right out and disagree with your philosophies doesn't it?? 5) Most importantly, since you seem to serve no other purpose, other than to call me out because of spite and do your best at being a troll by hijacking threads threads in order to make up for the Larry Smith thread, I have one last thing to say: Congratulations on being the 1st person ever to be added to my ignore list. Even Yetti is not on my ignore list ....................
Wow, when I saw that first post in this thread yesterday I thought it was going to just be garbage and float away by now, but then Hacksaw Jim Codell comes running out from the dressing room with a 2 x 4!!!!
So this is what it looks like?? I'm done here. My apologies to the mods and the thread starter for my meltdown.
codell:-Even in Basketball 'Actions speak louder than Words'. When JVG speaks about his players in public, I cant believe that a respected and experienced Coach like JVG would expose his real thinking about any of his players, till he has had a chance to work with them under game conditions. Maybe he wouldn't even then. As a Fan I have great expectations from JVG as the Coach of our Rockets. I think that a diciplined Coach was badly needed to take back control of the Team. Because of the large anti Yetti outcry I want to take this opportunity to clarify something about myself. Because I prefer the Big Man Style of game[Moses, Ralph, Hakeem] rather than the Guard Oriented Team of the last few years doesn't make me any less of a Fan than the most ardent one. As a result of my prefered type of Team I want Yao Ming to have the chance to fully develop as a NBA player and bring back the Big Mans Game to the Rockets. I couldn't care less who is the leader or who is the spokesman I just want to be entertained by a great Center,a great Point Guard, a great Shooting Guard and a Championship Team from Houston, Texas.
I always liked Hacksaw Butch Reed. Now that I think about it...did they really need two guys named Hacksaw?
No, but when they tag-teamed to form "The Hacksaws" as they did on occasion it was pure synergistic brilliance.
Hacksaw Butch was cool...but there was only one "original Hacksaw" see Sam's post... Hacksaw Jim was THE MAN! Hacksaw Codell...good one Sam.
do you, moron, know what the value of the brooklyn bridge is? do you? your comments are so idiotic. do you think before you speak? do you know the meaning of the things you say? christ sakes! i think i'm a tool for even responding to you, thanks a bunch codell.
damn, you're right. i looked up the joke in the moron's guide to the universe and it told me that it was both funny and wise. this 12 year old would like to, humbly, apologize. thanks again codell.
