yeah, that's the part I don't get at all. all his quotes were about finally finding a place where he could playing time...then he refused to travel with the team.
DAMN! What kind of injury did Stevie have and how can I avoid it? I googled it and the recovery time is 4-6 weeks. But that's surely for regular folks. During that time only very light work can be done and the tendons stand a chance to be reinjured
Can this finally put the whole SF3 thing to rest. The dude is DONE. Lets see July 11, 2007 "The Washington Post and Newsday reported on Tuesday that Portland will pay more than $30 million of the $33.6 million that the former All-Star guard is due." January 16, 2009 Griz general manager Chris Wallace said the team and veteran guard Steve Francis mutually agreed earlier this week to negotiate a contract buyout. Francis, 31, is scheduled to earn $2.64 million this season, the final year of his contract. Lets just say the Griz agree to pay him half of his salary ($1.32 million) Thats $34.92 million NOT TO PLAY. Talk about HORRIBLE return on investment. Francis fooled a lot of people out of a lot of money.
Hey Steve's Mom here's your new sig... just cut and paste. You can thank me later... The Stevie Frenchfry Comeback Tour: Never Playing in Memphis!! Coming soon to a team in China or your local Church rec league!!
I'm not sure where you are going with this, but I don't think the Blazers ever had any intention of playing Francis. Ever. I don't see how he could 'fool' them out of money.
I honestly think this could have something to do with PR for the Grizz considering Steve refused to play for them when he was initially drafted (even though it was Vancouver back then)....or maybe he's just that bad now. Either way, it would have been one heck of a sight to see him suit up and play for the team he refused to play for when he came in to the league haha. I wish him the best wherever he decides to go from here. Steve's really struggled since that first trade out of Houston like others have already said. I don't care what anyone says- that shows a lot of love for this city and its fans and makes me appreciate the old entertaining "Franchise" years a little more. I'll take a player who bleeds Rockets' pride and loves the city of Houston like Francis has over the years any day....hopefully they can play and stay relevant though
I think he knows he is done. If he still thinks he can play he obviously does not want to put in the effort to get a chance. As always he straight up lies when speaking to the media so that it makes him look like the good guy who can still play but is not getting a chance. He sounded absolutely ridiculous on the Calvin Murphy show recently. That was all I needed to hear from him. I don't think he will ever admit that he cannot play or is unwilling to put in a real effort to get another chance. He would rather keep playing the victim because he thinks it helps preserve the "legend" status he thinks he holds in NBA and Houston sports history.
If Grizz buy him out I would not be surprised if he ended up in Dallas. The Mavs are desperate for another point guard...maybe desperate enough to give Stevie a try for the vet minimum.
because guys like ya self make it fun Seriously the amount of hatred thrown at steve for no reason was crazy TMac hatred is only the tip of the ice burg of what Steve got . . IMO a bit unfairly I heap on TMac;s weak heart . . his inability to show heart Folx around here basically seemed to want SF3 dead . . rake over coals literally I poke at Tmac to cheese off the **** and the SF3OHs and it is just fun Rocket River
Guys like me? I don't hate Steve. He frustrated the dog crap out of me because he always said the right things but his actions never changed...he made the same mistakes his entire career. I thought he lacked maturity, and I still feel that way. You poke at TMac because you compare him to Francis...and you can't be remotely objective about that because you love Francis. That's ok...nothing wrong with being a fan. But that's where it is. The notion that you would poke at TMac's heart while giving Francis a pass on it every time makes that pretty clear.
seems like just yesterday he was pulling on his jersy to show everyone how much heart he had, after throwing one down against L.A. where does time go?
Steve has to be the most talked about ex-Rocket player on this BBS. What has he ever done to deserve so much love.....
He'll get season tickets to the Rox games behind the bench and show up in uniform and heckle Adelman and furiously cry, "Why didn't you play me RA!?" Im not a Stevie hater btw, I wanted to see him come back
