Francis Lightened Up Atkins at the Expense of Rocket

100 percent correct, A-Train. When Van Gundy was hired, all we heard on this BBS was that he was going to cure the team's selfishness by benching Francis or Mobely when they got out of control. The season is almost half over and I haven't seen it happen yet.

 

I thought it was a great shot of JVG when they showed him with his head in his hands in total frustration. It probably was about like most of us here at that point!

 

I don't know how the old Rockets fan could stand Francis same old stupid/me-first plays for four and half years. I am sick of it in the middle of last reason after only a few months. Bring a real PG or this team is never going to go to the next level

The Rox lost because of Yao Ming period. 5 min in the 2nd half! Outscored by Darko!?! Francis had almost a pt. per shot and had a 3 to 1 asst-to-turnover ratio. The biggest issue is Yao's lack of aggresiveness. a 7-6 guy doesn't let himself be completely taken out of a game PERIOD.

 

Steve wasn't the only reason his team lost, but for those of you who are defending his trash-talking, this isn't just about that. It's the same reason that Marbury kept getting traded, the reason AI's team will never be great. Make a player try to win the game alone. That's what happened with Steve. AGAIN.

Again, Steve managed six assists when his team had one of its worst shooting nights of the year, he only took sixteen shots. How again did he try to win by himself?

 

Ever occur to anyone that the reason he took over might have been BECAUSE the team was doing so badly? At one point in the second quarter, they were shooting 8% from the field. 8%. I turned it off after that, so I didn't see this "Steve taking over at the expense of the team" crap, but maybe it was called for because no one else could hit the broadside of Roseanne's ass.

AMEN! all this guys out here only have their eyes on steve when steve played a decent game! how bout yao, cat, and mo?! they played like they were on another state of mind! cat and mo had a combined 4-24! yao only had 4 pts in 22 minutes! only steve and jj carried the load. which is too much for just too players to carry for a team that has 12 players!

 

Mo was back in the old turf. He and Cat probably went out partying the night before.... Maybe Yao went too...

so let me understand one thing first. not only did steve make billups fall down on a crossover in the 2nd, but he had already made atkins fall down on a crossover in the 1st? damn. course in the 2nd after he did it he passed to an open jim jackson and he bricked the shot. but that was probably steve's fault also.

and how did steve go one on five in the 2nd Q, b/c the article said so? ooooh. maybe the 3rd quarter, but at that point if it wasn't justified, i don't know when it is. we had almost no offense, and what little we had was steve taking it to the basket and getting layups.

basically, we have yao ming playing like crap and again barely playing in the second half and we have mo t and cuttino probably having their worst combined shooting night of the season and again it's steve francis' fault despite a 6 ast, 2 to night during which he shot better than the team average. maybe he was trying to go one on five b/c he actually wanted to see the ball go in once in a while. and atkins really made a difference with his 11 pts on 3 of 9 shooting with 2 asts.

 

You francis lovers really amaze me sometimes. I'd like to see Francis try to score if he doesn't touch the ball.
