Steve has really played great in the last two games. It might be due to his all star weekend activities, whatever he had there had helped him. He still made bad decisions sometimes, but nobody is perfect, even Stockton the Elder still has turnovers. Too bad, Mobley were not doing good, he needs to be sent to all star game to get some valuable lessons from all his peers.
Yes, I'm joking. But, I think it would be fun to start a "who had a better night than Steve" forum. Absolutely there will be alot of nights where you can pick just about any player, but the comment in the game thread was funny in so many ways. "you think Steve is hot, Kobe has 51 right now." LOL.
I actually mentioned Yao because I didn't want people to start some big conspiracy theory that Steve now hates Yao. I was just trying to show that I didn't think there was any problem there before someone came in and said, "Well, see, now Francis is going to alienate Yao" or something silly like that. Actually, I thought Yao had a great game considering the physical toll last night and the travel must have taken on him. Being a rookie and someone with so little rest over the past year, his physical abilities and resiliancy are very, VERY impressive.
I don't think it's that at all. It would be like Yao going for 20/12/3 and I post "not bad, but check out Shaq. He's abusing Nene. Shaq has 35 already." Or, MoT coming off the bench with 14/7 on 6 of 7 shooting and I say "yeah, but flip over to the Clippers game. Wilcox has 20 already." Like I said, I think Clutch should start a forum like that. Call it "Francis screwed up on this play tonight" or "Not bad Stevie, but Baron had more points and rebounds tonight."
gr8-1: Damn you... telling them it was a joke. I was waiting to see how long it took some people to figure out . Your post made me laugh... but the post bashing you for bashing Steve made damage my keyboard...
yep, I have some outside (or umm, inside) confirmation of this "some" business as well. Suffice it to say that it is an interesting topic to others outside the bbs.
No, I don't think the above is worth mentioning. I mentioned Kobe because of his breaking 50 pts barrier. That's half of Lakers total score. 50 pts, not 35 pts or 20 pts. And it just happens that Steve is also so hot and scoring high 30s. So... I am not waiting to compare some Rocket's players against some other NBA players on any given night. I am just mentioning Kobe because of the 50 FREAKIN points. So just give me a break. Did I already say 50 points?
I have an inside source (actually it's me) that heard Steve say to the Big O "enough you long-winded old sap. I ain't takin advice from some fool who is currently behind Mark Jackson in assists. Besides, I'm late for my Reebok commercial with AI, fool."
I think the lack of to's is the most important part to me. When he's not turning the ball over, it means we're getting shots at the basket which is very good. I'll take a lower to anytime.
I think the chemistry between SF and Yao is really the future of the team. Glad to see a little bit of it in the last two games.
yes, the great One is on a roll tonight. hehe. Hey, forgive me for implying I have "inside" sources. That is not true. I have no sources. I've just been calling and emailing like a mad man to any journalists who will respond to read that article, and even tried to post it as the question of the game, "What do you think of Steve's conversation to the Big O?" You ever write or call the media. It's actually quite fun. Whether Fran embellished "<i>some</i>" of the comments or not, the article, as written, should get rewritten to keep Francis honest...and Fran too, As in, if you say it enough, Francis will believe it. Like Jeff says, he sure is in a groove right now, that's for sure! I encourage everyone to write outside journalists/commentators to read the interview. So far, the ones who've responded find it "quite fascinating."
Looks like that talk with Big "O" has maybe turned things around for Steve. Still, like Jeff posted yesterday, Mobley seems like he is on the outside looking in.
Mobley's going to adjust. He just needs to find different ways to score. It's like Artest. The way he scores, it would take someone else a whole season to learn. He just has like 4 or 5 spots where he knows the guy with the ball will need a bail out, so he finishes off those plays. Mobley needs to revolve around Steve and Yao, find out where they need him and most of all, be energetic abotu it like before.
Our Dynamic Duo will take on the other Dynamic Duo on the 18th. We shall see how we measure up after that encounter.
