I am 100% for the trade. Getting T Mac would be a dream come true. It would be a steal.

However, if I was a betting man, I'd say it probably did happen that way.

If Francis would keep his representatives' mouths shut, Id almost feel bad for him. Almost.

I agree. The guy gave it everything he had. I'll miss his passion alot.

But at the same time, our core of players would never get us past the 2nd round. I think most people are bashing him because he's holding up the T-Mac trade. Then again, 1/2 the people here were already basing him last year.

If that's true Steve has every reason to feel cheated but what else could Jeff said?
"Yeah, we are working on a deal to swap you with T Mac"? That's probably not a very smart answer. I feel for Steve but I don't think Jeff did anything wrong here.

SF3: "Jeff, about the Super Bowl thing..."

JVG: "Forget about it. It's history. We played dodgeball afterwards remember????"

SF3: "Yeah, you got me real good, coach. That shot I took in the nads... I saw more stars that day than a night at the Oscar's."

JVG: "Get to the point Steve. Why are you interrupting my Hungarian bubble bath here in the outskirts of Sugarland? Say... where's those two Hungarian bubble boys, DaDakota and REIT???"

SF3: "Coach, you said you'd meet me at Reliant Stadium."

JVG: "heh heh heh, I DID didn't I?"

SF3: "You even gave me the free tix. I'm starting to think you set me up!"

JVG: "Who me? Sure Steve. If you believe that, you probably believe that you're actually better than Stephon."

    SF3: "SHUT UP!"

JVG: "Are you talking to me??? Do you know what I do with incalcitrant players like you?

    SF3: "Uhh.. what's incalcit...?"

JVG: "That's right. You're STUBBORN!!! And I'm not the only one who thinks so. Jeff from the BBS thinks so too! And do you know what I do to stubborn players??? heh heh heh. That's right, I shop them to Orlando!"

SF3: "Says you! I am NOT stubborn. I am NOT turnover prone. And I am NOT an all-star."

    JVG: "You got one right."

SF3: "It's Mobes isn't it? He paid you off!"

JVG: "No that would be Les Alexander."

SF3: "Les? No why would he do that?"

JVG: "Hint hint. could it be because you're no longer the franchize????"

SF3: "I am TOO the franchise. Look at my jersey. They just left the last "E" off for EGO.

JVG: "That still leaves an "H" in your last name, Steve."

SF3: "Oh, that "H" is for Houston. That's why I was destined to stay here coach. PLEEEEEZE keep me."

JVG: "OK, let me talk to L.A. about it. In the meantime, why don't you take a nice long vacation somewhere warm, say, Orlando."

SF3: "Sure coach, see you next August!"

    JVG: "You bet."

The last I heard of Rock was at the riot at MSG after the Bowe-Golota fight.

More than once I have heard JVG say he has only minor input into personnel. Most recently inhte interview after the draft. Do you think that is true, or he just "Aw shucks"ing us".

SF: Jeff, is it true you're seriously considering trading me for TMac?
JVG: (sarcastically)Stop and think about it Steve. Do you honestly think we'd trade you for a player who is taller, younger, shoots better, plays smarter, has every mad skill you have only more of it, and wants desperately to team up with a dominant big man?
SF: Yeah, I guess I was just a little scared you might really do it. Thanks Jeff, I knew you'd be honest with me.
    JVG::confused: :eek:

CD walks up after SF leaves.

JVG: We gotta get this thing done. What if they want to sit down and actually talk to Steve before signing off?
CD: You haven't met Weisbrod yet, have you?;) It won't matter if they do.

Very well said!!! As excited as i am at the prospects of landing McGrady to the point of losing sleep over this constant uncertainty, if McGrady played every game with the passion that stevie does, he would be the undisputed BEST player in the game.

I still like the trade, but I'm liking JVG less every minute.....Steve definitely sounded cheated, hurt, and mad at the same time on ESPN. And he has a right to be. He said he saw his face on TV and asked JVG about it, JVG then said, 'dont even worry about it'......wow........

Damn, we definitely didnt follow any moral guidelines in getting TMac, did we? kind of sad.......Steve played hard. I will always root for him and Cat.

Too bad for Steve. I really liked him but it didn't work out with him and Yao so the Rockets are trying something else. Let's hope T-Mac will "mesh" with Yao and JVG and the Rockets can go deeper into the playoffs next season.

As for lying to Steve. I bet he did. But it's a business and people don't tell the whole truth everytime. JVG probably knew something was up but Steve was not considered a need to know person because he wasn't the one asking to be traded. He is also under contract for 5 more years and there are no no trade clause in the NBA.

I feel for the guy. I wish him, Cat and Kelvin the best....

But please Steve, play nice with the Magic so the deal can be done.

A lot of fans here remind me of what it's like when you're 16 and break-up with your girlfriend.

Suddenly, this person you were sooo hot for .... is too fat, too ugly, too stupid and too nasty.

Stevie has done nothing that bad. He's never said a harsh word about the city or fans, and anything he's said about the way the team handled this may be true. Nothing he has done ever came close to sinking this trade.

Damn him for wanting to play for the Rockets, to play in Houston.

    * * *

So why don't we attempt to show some class and maturity and just appreciate him for the heart he poured into the game while he played here in a Rockets uniform. Everyone keeps complaining about Stevie's immaturity, yet I've seen much worse exhibited here.

    Ain't that the truth.
This is the most intelligent post stated in the entire web site.
I'll will miss the true Franchise; and I think in due time all of you that are wining like little babies; on this site will miss Steve Francis as well.

    Is "incalcitrant" a ord?

Recalcitrant, I think. Gotta check the dictionary, as I have had one too many and it's time for sleep. Good night.

But I still think it's recalcitrant.

And I'm sure JVG had told him, We're not looking to trade you, Steve.

    phone rings

    JVG: Hello?

CD: Guess what? I think I got us Tracy McGrady!

    JVG: HOLY F**K!!!!

Well, I am not surprised he did.

I am in favor of getting the trade done. I want TMAC.

I feel bad for SF though, he finally get's his first taste of the playoffs and he plays great, but now he is going back to a rebuilding team.

We all know it's business. It's not like he is not going to get his money somewhere-else. It's really hard to root for him at this point. The guy is just too much bone-headed. Why should he be so different from everybody else, say Cato, Cat, Artest, Marion, Joe Johnson, or even Dirk?
