Francis is such an a-hole. We all know JVG would never ever run to the media with his team's dirty laundry.
Excellent point! Spon on on Gray! He is a $hitstirer for sure! And you are right, many times interviewers ask questions to try to get answers like the above.
I was being sarcastic. JVG has no problem running to the media and talking about players in public. But really I'm just being contrarian at this point. Francis should just let it go, however if he was asked a question then I don't blame him if he said this.
A lot of fans here remind me of what it's like when you're 16 and break-up with your girlfriend. Suddenly, this person you were sooo hot for .... is too fat, too ugly, too stupid and too nasty. Stevie has done nothing that bad. He's never said a harsh word about the city or fans, and anything he's said about the way the team handled this may be true. Nothing he has done ever came close to sinking this trade. Damn him for wanting to play for the Rockets, to play in Houston. * * * So why don't we attempt to show some class and maturity and just appreciate him for the heart he poured into the game while he played here in a Rockets uniform. Everyone keeps complaining about Stevie's immaturity, yet I've seen much worse exhibited here.
And depending on who the Rockets pick to surround Ming and TMac, he will become a championship coach in the next three years. With Francis still in the equation anything could happen, but it is hard not to envision the Ming-TMac combo. Talk about breaking down zone defenses, and releasing the Beast from the East. McGrady can make Ming a true superstar. I have followed TMac since he came into the league and I think the two of them are made for each other.
Amazes me how some folks have to create a "bad guy" in order to salve their own ego and feelings. "HOU should have talked to me about the trade like ORL talked to T-Mac". "JVG lied to me about that trade". Jeez, your butt is being traded... take it like a man, button the hatch, and play hard for your new team fer crissakes.
So, if JVG lied to Steve about the trade...then perhaps all that JVG said about Steve & their relationship & how he loved Steve, blah, blah, blah was just that, blah. What a shock, a New Yorker lying?
I don't have an exact quote but I heard the interview also. Steve basically said " I went to Jeff and said 'Man I'm hearing rumors about a trade' and Jeff said 'Thats just speculation don't worry about it' " Then he cried for a minute about how "That man lied to me right to my face".
Steve(catching JVG from behind in the hallway): Jeff, you got a second? JVG: Sure Steve, what's up? Steve: Well I saw this thing on ClutchFans....I mean I heard a rumor about myself, Cuttino, and Cato going to the Magic for TMac and spare parts and I was wondering... JVG (cutting Steve off excitedly and before he can stop himself): I know, isn't it awesome?!!! Just think what we can get done now! Steve: So you're saying it's a done deal? I'm gone? JVG: Well no Steve, there's a chance you might be staying. Steve: What, like one in a hundred chance that I'm staying? JVG: It's more like one in a million. I'm telling you the truth Steve. Steve(excitedly): So you're saying there's a chance!?! Thanks Jeff, I'm gonna go practice dribbling between my legs and skipping down the court some more! Later when Steve's agents call him after talking to CD, they tell him about the trade. Steve: Wait a sec, what was all that one in a million talk? I can't believe Jeff lied to me. I'm calling Shaq. So you see, we can't really blame Steve for being misled, can we?
