We don't need a pure PG. We just need another G.

I would love Lucious Harris or Darrell Armstrong playing 25 minutes a night, rotating with Steve and Cat.

This would mean Moochie plays 1 minute which is 1 more than what he deserves.

If we could somehow trade for Eric Snow and have Mobley as a 6th man I would be happy.

Does anyone wonder why Steve suddenly "realized" that he's a SG (considering he forced that trade because he didn't want to play SG for Grizzlies)? I wonder if it's the recent critcism of him not passing the ball enough got into him.

I think that Steve saying he didn't want to go to the Grizzlies because he didn't want to play SG is just BS. I think the real reason is because he didn't want to go to Vancouver. That's just my opinion though.

I know people have talked about Snow or Alvin Williams.

I doubt Philly would trade Snow unless theyre looking to rebuild and Alvin Williams has a bad contract.

Neither looks realistic at this point.

I believe both Lucious Harris and Armstrong are both free agents and could be had for the mid-level exception.

This way we can keep everyone in tact and add a piece without trading someone away.

A veteran guard is exactly what this team needs.

At some point, Steve and Cat will not be able to consistently play 40+ minutes a night. Less minutes could also mean more energy on defense.

And since Moochie is worse than Connor Henry, our starters just cant get any meaningful rest.

Harris is not really a point guard. He is averaging 2 assist per game this year and that is the highest of his career.

I wouldn't mind bringing in Armstrong. He would be a nice addition if we could get him as a free agent.

Most SG's will not be able to guard Steve because he is so quick, but on the flip side, Steve won't be able to guard any guard 6'4 and up.

I know Harris isn't a PG but that doesn't matter.

This team is dangerously thin at both guard positions. Adding a cheap veteran guard, whether 1 or 2 could take some minutes away from Francis and Mobley.

Caller asks Rudy: Why does Moochie play?
Rudy: We don't have anybody else.

    That's pathetic.

We have a 3 guard rotation - including Moochie - one of the worst players in the NBA. That means our other 2 guards basically play almost the entire game.

Bring in a veteran SG or PG and let Maddux develop.

    Exactly...

Steve Blake wouldn't be a bad choice at all, if he falls to the second round though. But in all reality, if Francis moves to the 2, it's more likely the Rockets would have to find a bigger pass first player that can possibly cover the 2. That would make the transition a lot less troublesome.

Hey, you know this could mean that we are going to see a lot more of Tito Maddox next season. Rudy says that he is the best defensive guard on the team, and that they are just working on his shot.

However, if that is the case...whither Moochie?

    Let's break it down...

Steve at the point = 20 minutes.
    Moochie/Tito = 28 minutes.

    Steve at the 2 = 20 minutes.
    Cat = 28 minutes.

    Cat at the 3 = 8 minutes.
    Rice/Posey = 30 minutes.
    Boki = 10 minutes.

Steve playing half his time at the 2 next year might work - even without a trade.

I think the guys the Rockets should look at in the second round are:

Luke Walton, Hollis Price(yes, I see his skill even through my burnt orange), Steve Blake, and my personal fav, Matt Carroll.

Gutter Snipe, where did you hear about the comment on Maddox? I'd like to hear more about what the Rox think of him.

if hollis would help, i could stomach his OU self being on the team. however, it would require several weeks of continuous vomiting and self-mutilation to purge myself of the evil that allowed me to allow hollis on the team. and i just said that after we beat them, when i'm happy and don't hate hollis that much.

however, i would fear hollis would be too small and isn't he a SG anyway?? i know white was the PG today, although i guess with his size he would have to make the PG transition. anyway, hollis wouldn't be my solution.

i'm not sure who would be my solution. i feel cuttino is starter quality material and would have a hard time telling him to go back to the bench. but if there was really a true pg who would actually upgrade the O and if moving steve to the 2 would free him and allow him to do more damage and if we could get cuttino to accept a bench role again after he has improved so much, i might be for it. however, cuttino should still get a minimum of 30 minutes a night (which might actually end up being more than the starting PG). i'm not sure if i want armstrong, is his shot worth anything anymore?? he seems to have declined the last year or two but i don't watch him that much (of course he never seems to be on the floor so maybe that's why).

Since Steve mentioned Kidd possibly going to Spurs next season and felt sorry for Parker, let's get Tony Parker for our 1.

Jamal Crawford is 6'5 and is playing pretty well splitting time with Jay Williams in Chicago. It probably wouldn't take too much for us to get him.

Imo, if Francis moves to SG, then Mobley is gone. While he would be a nice luxury off the bench, we'd still be in need of a true PG to run the team & Mobley could help us secure that player.

The first, & most obvious, trade would be with the Clippers for Miller. If we assume that Kandi is leaving (I put my money on Denver or San Antonio getting him), then the Clippers are going to be in need of a true center (Rooks ain't gonna cut it). We just happen to have a reasonably priced starting center, that is locked in for another 3 years, in Cato. With Mobley & Odom's friendship, Sterling might be convinced to make the trade. We'd have to get Odom pushing for the deal & probably add a future #1 pick, but I believe it'd be worth pursuing.

I'd propose a deal something like this:

Houston sends Mobley/Cato/future #1 pick to the Clippers.

The Clippers send Miller/ZhiZhi to Houston.

That gives us a true starting PG & replaces Cato's backup role with a player that Ming is familiar with & can hang with. Besides, ZhiZhi has a nice shooting touch from outside. Just my opinion though.

    Personally F4p,

I like Carroll the most with Walton close behind, and Blake 3rd.

Hollis was a thought because he is a robot at draining the 3, a lot like Arenas in my opinion.
