Yep. And also, his first All-Star game was the same year he suffered from his Minears (sp?) disease. The head coach (Don Nelson) of that squad even said in his press conference something didn't seem right about Francis, that he seemed "out of it" the entire game.

Just to make sure, you're joking, right? We've pretty much known for a fact that Francis had a migraine that All-Star Weekend... just ain't fair.

Who cares about Francis making the Olympic team save for Francis-Only fans. People it is just the freaking Olympics - it is not like winning a NBA championship which I care about.

Rookie of the, ASG and Olympics don't mean jack.

Anyway Finley is currently better than Francis so lets move on.

Who cares if Yao is going to be the ROY. Who cares if Hakeem's the MVP? Rox fan care. I want our players to get as much recognition as possible, its called love for the team. But I do care a WHOLE LOT more about a NBA championship.

    Exacty.

What kind of "it's all about winning..rah, rah" bullsh*t are you talking about, Fegwu? No one is disputing that winning for your NBA team is most important, but @ the same time it's a huge honor for an NBA player (I would assume) to be selected for the Olympic team. The best of the best make that squad...the greatest players to ever play have been on that team...Isaiah (sp?) Thomas to this day is still bitter that he wasn't picked for the original Dream Team...Allen Iverson/the media made a huge deal about him being bypassed in favor of Bibby b/4 it was learned A.I. had made it. You don't have to be a Yao-only or Francis-only fan to realize it's a pretty big deal. Like wizkid said, as a Rockets fan we want to see our players to get as many accolades as possible -- with the team winning coming before this.

BTW -- You are one of a select few that thinks Finley is a better player than Francis.

I would have said nearly the exact same thing had you not beat me to it. Fans' main goal is a title for their team, but we want all the appetizers, too.

Fegwu, there is no way in hell Finley as an overall talent is even close to Francis. Francis is younger, has more potential, and STILL currently plays substantially better than Finley.

Do you really think we're THAT much worse than the Mavs? I mean we owned them before this year, and now you're calling our BEST player worse then their second or third best player?

That's insane. You're not only not a Francis-only fan, you're a Francis-hater, and I wish there was a law banning those people from being Rockets fans... at least until he's not with the team anymore.

Hmm.. AI and Francis at the sg is an interesting combo....

Anyways, I'm a bit shocked that some of you think that being asked to be on the Olympic Team is no big deal. I'm not too surprised that Francis wasn't invited, but I do feel a bit angry about it.. it's an honor to be on Team USA and represent the US in the Olympics.. AND I agree w/ RocketGuy3 on a number of things:

Passion is a factor (and a decently big one too) in winning games. I mean, determination is pretty much a factor in almost anything. Sure passion is useless when you're hopelessly outmatched, but in the NBA the Rox are NOT hopelessly outmatched. Francis IS BETTER THAN FINLEY in many many ways. But Finley is more a prototypical sg than Francis, more experienced, and gives a bit of variety at the sg. So again I'm not surprised Finley got the job, but that doesn't mean I'm happy about it. As for Francis shooting better than Finley.. I'm a bit surprised. And stop saying Francis doesn't care about winning, he does. He wants it.. a lot.

    Uh... no.
Francis is obviously better than Finley.......
Why do you say Finley is better? Francis is more athletic, shoots a better percentage, and is a legitimate superstar. Finley? He's a star, but there's no way Finley is better than Francis. Except he has a little better D, which counts for **** on the mavs since nobody plays D anyways.

    Thanks ron

This squad seems a little..... strange.... RJ, Brand, Bibby, Malone (good but old, there's better, and he's JAZZ!!! )... there's better, more proven players out there.
