If I'm coaching a team, and a whiny former franchise player who thinks he's a superstar refuses to dress, I wouldn't play him regardless of the situation. Pass. You can't just cater to his whining like that.

Class move by SF, and a reason he is a fan favorite.

My respect for him just shot up. I don't see any other Rocket giving their jersey away for every game. The guy at least has class. I'll give him that.

And people still wonder why Houston has so much love for Steve. It's not just what you do on the court, but off the court as well.

LMFAO. I noticed that too. Whenever T-Mac is in the game, Steve takes T-mac's chair. Mine as well get comfortable if your going to be there a while.

Thats really an awesome thing to do, but it would mean so much more if he is giving away a jersey that he actually played in.

Yep. It is amazing how much of a cancer steve is when he isn't doing anything. Dude gave his jersey to what seemed to be a possibly autistic kid. (based of the looks, I'm not a doctor) Meanwhile, he gets flamed cuz he didn't have his jersey on while he watched a crappy @ss rafer jack up bricks.

    FYI,
Right now, Adelman is as much of a stubborn douche as JVG was, in my mind.

i could care less whether he wore a jersey or not, but exactly how does this prove he wore his jersey? the clip starts with him not wearing a jersey.

Wow .. this is stupid ... I was at the Memphis game and he took off his jersey and threw it into the crowd as he walked into the terminal. When I lived in Utah and Francis was a rookie he did the same thing when they played against the Jazz.

Before the game on Wednesday (Memphis) in the pre-game shoot-around he took something off (I think an arm band) and threw it into the crowd.

In the pre-game shoot-around I asked him if he was going to play "tonight" and he gave me a pissed off look. After the game I got a picture with him and he was and always has been a nice guy... signed autographs took pictures. Everytime I've met Steve he's been nothing but classy.

I watched Steve the entire Memphis game and Steve would coach Yao, T-Mac and others... While on the bench he didn't set still, cheering getting up .. He's not just sitting there pouting

Wether you like him as a player or not, he's what every player should be like to the fans.

PS I'll post some pictures when I get back home if anyone's interested (I'm in Memphis and don't have my camera cable or memory card reader).

What the heck is he doing wearing a jersey?

    Steve, GET IN SHAPE FIRST.

Don't assume you are going to play just because you signed a contract and threw on the jresey.

It's awfully presumptive of Steve to wear a jersey and assume he is going to play. YOU HAVE TO EARN IT, STEVE.

What? No I was wrong for thinking that of Steve. For trying to use it as ammunition against him. LOL.

When times get tough for Francis, he cheers on his teammates and gives away jerseys to home and away fans.

When times get tough for Rafer, he assaults a parking attendant, slashes somebody with a knife in a club, and throws up even more bricks.
