Clutch, this is why I love this site. Thanks for the update (I must admit it was disturbing to think he wasn't wearing the jersey during the game.)
First of all, it is a jersey and can be put on/taken off. Maybe it is uncomfortable to him. Second of all, you are r****ded.
Clutch, why did you post this? Sometimes it's more fun when wild rumors run rampart for a while, especially those about SF. Now a lot of people will be bored.
I don't know enough about the guy to discount rumors before anything is proven.. so I am glad that he isn't that sort of person.
So if someone said he was an alien you wouldn't discount it first. What if someone said he killed jon benet ramsey. You can discount the rumor on the basis that its absurd to actually believe a player went to the court without his jersey. Think about that, do you really believe that could happen.
Why do you have to take it to extremes? Would it be difficult to warm up without anyone knowing if you actually had a jersey on underneath, probably not, so that's possible. Could Steve be an alien.. there's a little bit of a difference in the probability of those two scenarios. I was just saying that when you hear something, you automatically react based on what knowledge you have of the situation. Regardless if its a true story or not. It's a human response. Just like I reacted by thinking what a freaking jerk when I first read your post. However on second glance I realize that you are merely being sarcastic and belittling me. Something I find I just have to ignore more and more on these boards since this season started. I don't understand why people have to be so defensive, sarcastic and downright nasty. Sigh.. whatever.
player being bashed with stupid rumors and seemingly intelligent posters believing such stupidity will make you react like that. a professional athlete not wearing his uniform to the field or court of play is about as silly as him being an alien
I didn't have any boxers on last night with my gf... but that didnt keep me from getting in the game!
So is the idea that a player might rape a woman, or kill his ex wife, or bet on his sport, or run dog fights, hmmm... need I go on. There are people out there that do dumb things... so I am stupid for thinking this could be true?
i mean really, the pychoanalysis of his ever mannerism is enough to drive you mad, but then you have threads that go more than a page and actually have to be proven wrong about his jersey. Its insane, everyone needs to take a chill pill.
I would think you have to dig pretty far to find a player who didn't wear his jersey. Why wouldn't he wear it. Did you think he forgot it. Did you think he was being defiant?
Being obstinate comes to mind as a possibility. Trying to prove a point. Just being a jerk. Any of those thoughts came to mind. I admitted that I don't know his personality that well so it wasn't out of the realm of possibilities.
As Clutch mentioned on the front page Francis DID wear a jersey and DID give it away to a fan after the game. Need proof? <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/N_nQ-AuEaL4&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/N_nQ-AuEaL4&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object> This video was shot last night by channel 2 immediately after the game. Let the internet rumors stop.
you don't know any players personality for the most part unless you know any of these guys personally. To believe he actually wouldn't wear his jersey is an extreme assumption about someone you don't know.
