I feel bad for SF3 and I feel too many people gang up on him to kick him when he's down. SF3 played his heart out for Houston and I loved him for it! I really hope Stevie does well in New York and experiences a resurgence of his career playing for someone like LB. I dont understand why they have Starbury and Francis I still think Isiah is stockpiling talent to make a big trade. SF3 has always been a good guy, no real atitude problems or anything, plays hard and very talented just cant find the right fit yet. If he can ever learn to play as a real PG setting up the offense and delivering the ball to the right person at the right time combined with all his natural gifts he would be an allstar again.
Nope he didn't, but he apparently had planned to since the article indicated that he called the team and told them he would miss the game. It's a shame that he is letting personal issues detract him from his duties to the team (e.g. missing a shootaround).
but pgabriel, he asked out of the game because his child got a virus. he went home to get a suit...halfway across the country...and then once he got there he asked to not have to play at all. great first impression.
Don't forget, Francis can't do any wrong and there's always a logical excuse for his actions. Do you ever get tired of being wrong pgabriel?
he missed a shootaround, after asking can he miss a game and was told no. should he have asked to miss the game, probably not. have players missed games for personal reasons this year, yes. with the rockets, yes. and not just mcgrady's fiance giving birth or her mother dying. did he b**** to the media about his personal issues and it affecting his play, no.
to be fair there was no first impression for francis to make. it was made before he even played his first game for the knicks. he immediately symbolized everything that is wrong with isiah's managing of the knicks, gets paid a lot and doesn't fit. people already had a bad taste in their mouth before he even played. add in the fact that the knicks are terrible and weren't going to somehow turn it around by adding an ill-fitting piece like francis, and there wasn't really any chance that first impression was going to go away. so his bed was made by isiah before he even got there and now he has to lie in it. not that francis was right in this situation. it seems he was basically just going to skip the game, but why in the hell did the knicks let him leave in the first place. it just seems weird. is their dress code so strict that they just had to let him leave in the middle of a road trip to make sure he was conforming to it? could we not resolve this issue simply before the next road trip? i mean dressing in suits and ties isn't exactly helping the W column. also, is this quote from larry brown even real or is it another brown: seriously? it was really that important? even if he made it back why endure extra traveling before a game (i almost called it a big game b/c it was SA but the knicks have no big games at this point) just for that? that has to be made up or i have to have missed something and that's not larry brown.
Last time I checked, Americans are allowed to say whatever they want in front of a cadre of reporters. Last time I checked, the NBA allows players to talk about whatever they want in front of reporters outside of poor refereeing. The NBA offers no such latitiude for missing shootarounds. You'll defend anything the guy does. If Steve gets loaded and runs over a family of three on their way to church in his SUV, you'll pop on the thread and argue that we should settle down "because he didn't mean to kill those guys. It's not like O.J., who murdered those people on purpose." Francis, in the eyes of his team, teammates, the NBA and its fans did something wrong. Not the biggest misdeed the league has seen this year, but still a misdeed. Also a boneheaded, lazy, and selfish one.
turn down the drama dude. francis gets you guys' blood pumping way too much. you went from missing a shootaround to o.j., but I have the problem.
You've proven time and time again that you would reach to those lengths in order to defend him. You obviously know the game damn well, and yet you consistently leave yourself open for ridicule because of this Francis blind spot.
and TMAC quit halfway thru the season in Orlando. Everyone has their problems, but Francis played his heart out in Houston. Everyone attacks him like he demanded to be traded out of Houston or something.
I'm pretty sure since KellyDwyer is a writer for Cnnsi.com, that he automatically knows more than you. You have lost pgabriel.
What are we talkin' bout? We talkin' bout shoot around? We talkin' bout shoot around, man. Shoot around. Not a real game. Shoot around. We talkin' bout shoot around? Seriously, this whole thing is a circus, and there are more than one clowns than just Francis in the Knicks organization.
None of Francis' **** should be a surprise, Two Words: Van Couver Dude's a quitter. However, he used to be our quitter so some people have love for him.
um, this is just a tad heavy on the drama. i can't believe steve is at it again, but let's not get crazy.
Actually I was pretty critical of francis for not going back in that game. the only people making a big deal about this is clutchfans.net and the ny post.
No, once Francis stopped playing ball he lost a lot of All Star votes, he did make the All Star team before Yao came around don't you know.
