Francis wants to win. It's just that Francis wants to get "his" as well as win. He still hasn't realized that he will have to sacrafice a lot of himself to win. His defense is an embarassment to Dr Naismith.
I agree with wht you said about Iverson, Rockets03. he does play his heart out every minute of the game and YES, i even hate him more than you and i also agree with wht U851662 said. Does anyone think things will change or we will continue to struggle all season long?
Some players just play for their contracts, and once they get a fat contract, they don't give a **** about win or loss. F*** them
Mobley, Nachbar and Cato for Payton works on RealGM. Just thought I'd point this out. We can give Mobley three years to learn (because he is a "young" player) in Seattle and take him back then. Payton is 35, but three years with Francis and Payton in the backcourt seem great for Francis to learn and for us to have a shot at a ring each year. Why wait...
The players can't let a loss, even a blowout, get them down. You have to let the losses go or you will end up in a funk and then the losses start mounting. I think our longest losing streak this year is only 4 games. If everyone on the team starts reacting to losses the way you described Ming, expect that number to grow quite a bit.
It's one thing to get up again after a loss. It's another thing to be seemingly unaffected by losing while getting your butt kicked...
OK, R0ckets03 can go stand in the corner with RocketsPimp and Another Brother. You guys really suck...I mean, really...there is no excuse for this thread my man!! Cut the crap..."I'm a big fan...boo hoo. But I can't take it anymore." Go root for Utah...this is getting outta hand...email me when you get done yelling at the Astros this October...umkayy. Next up I guess will by CriscoKidd??
Line me up with them then. I can't afford to go to many games...so when I DO go (like tonight) I expect a team effort. I don't necessarily expect to win...but I expect an NBA calibur performance. This wasn't anything resembling an NBA performance in the second half. I couldn't see that there was even a set offensive game plan in the second half. Disgusting.
R0ckets03, you see how I have to go through a gauntlet of lame ass tag-along tryhard hangouters with their peripheral bball takes to respond to you... but man... Some of the funnest are jumping!!! Not YOU man. What the f!ck? The game was not like your portrayed. You need to sit with me!! We had no chance in hell beating that team tonight. We did great the 1st half and you know it! Don't leave me!! Don't jump!!
That plan sounds great...now lets just wait until the Rockets have a fair-weather fan as gm for a day contest and you'll be made.
Now I can understand why no one goes to the game. Lack of aggressiveness and lack of winning = Lack of Attendance. Put me up w/ that group. Those two punks really need a talking from Hakeem and the '94 Championship Team. They really need to show these punks how to grow up and win.
First of all, I just want to say that I have no idea whether or not Mobley and Francis (or any NBA player out there) really cares. All I know is that I've seen Francis and Mobley both leave everything out there on the court way too much to make the assumption that they don't care. Now that that's out of the way...this loss sucked, but it wasn't as bad as the other 4 losses we've had in the past 6 games. We had a REALLY good 1st half. We executed the way we wanted to both offensively and defensively. Honestly, when was the last time you saw the Rockets get SOOOO many easy buckets as they did in that 1st half? For a half, it seemed like the whole team actually "got it". Unfortunately, there was a 2nd half. The Mavs came out hot, we got flustered and never made the appropriate adjustments to stop them. We lost track of what we were doing on offense to get a lot of the easy buckets we were getting before. Its almost like the whole team tightened up during that 3rd quarter run by the Mavs...we never recovered. The silver lining is that we showed we know how to execute a gameplan and that when we do so, we play VERY well. We now need to learn to do so consistently for a whole game. You could look at the game entirely negatively and blame it on lots of things....bad coaching, poor defensive rotation, dumb passes, dumb shots, etc. However, in THIS particular instance, I think the general fact that we're a young team and didn't have the maturity to withstand the Mavs 3rd quarter run is what got us. I hope that with time this team can gain that maturity and then put together TWO halves as good as the 1st last night.
I certainly can understand the frustration... and it's not being a fair-weather fan when you get mad and demand more from your players...in fact, that's being a true fan...you're pissed, but you're still watching...wanting your team to make good moves. if i had paid for last night's game, i would have felt the same way...instead, i watched the game at home with my son...and i was still frustrated ignoring offensive plans...rudy says he's calling plays and setting things up...clearly he's being disregarded when this team needs a big shot...a must-score possession, it seems like they always get a bad shot...they don't work the ball through the post enough....we used to complain about barkley ticking off the clock and taking a shot...now the guards do the same thing, but they're further away from the basket. i freaking love steve francis...and i really like cat mobley...but i'm not encouraged by their inconsistent play...and it's time to stop making excuses about youth.
Why don't you just stay the hell home if you don't want them to laugh on the bench. Oh poor me, I bought a ticket and the team lost, and now they're laughing! Oh no! Look at me, I'm such a great fan that I'm REALLY mad about it, too!
Look, a valid point has been made. Even Steve has said he doesn't really go into the team "huddles" during timeouts. And here it has been observed that their heads aren't in the game; they're laughing with courtside fans rather than paying attention to business. It isn't a sign of the apocalypse...just an observation on someone's part. Fine? HP, let me borrow those rose-colored glasses you wear at the games. I've been in my marriage with the Rockets now for about sixteen or seventeen years, and it's really gone bad these last three or four years. I'm sticking it out, but so far, my other half refuses to see a marriage counselor.
apparently, R0ckets03 doesn't get it. Let's kick R0ckets03 while he is down. He's flailing and flopping like a b**** ass Jazz fan screaming from a nightmare vision of Stockton with tats skip hopping up the court and Malone looking like a punk while not getting any call...."ghetto ball is horrrrrible" You know, R0ckets03 is the self-proclaimed loudest fan in the arena. He is a self-proclaimed diehard. So, what does he do. "I'm going to go down and boo my boys from behind the bench." Dude, you should have gone down and heckled Marc Cuban....that is *much* for fun and cathartic. R0ckets03 is down. KICK HIM like he Kicked the Rockets when they were down. who's next!
I wear no colored glasses. And I'm not a closet Jazz fan like half the board appears to be. It's called counting your blessings and enjoying the show. Did you see Rigaudeau throw up not one, but two "garbage" air ball freaking layups hehehehe And you know that was a sweet 1st half. learn to like the game, and learn to admit that there are many fans who know how to enjoy bball much more than you.
