I agree with much of what you say, however...
I don't believe that. Or else what's the point of comparing any two players? They will obviously have different characteristics, different levels of dominance. The similarity here is active, off-the-ball doubles and triples. Sure strength is a huge factor, but ball movement is just as important.
Yes they are, like I said before - he's the center of a revolving, collapsing D every night, and his health affects his mobility and touches, as well. But you say this - "a very mature player and team" - there is a difference in what can be done simply with patience and maturity vs. what was done against a "gimmick" D. Call it nitpicky, but we did not play or think to our potential much of the game. What bothers me about Francis' comment is the implication - 'Well, that's the way it is, I hope he understands' - I'm basically saying SF impose your will, in your thoughts, play and actions. Every contending team (Dallas, Sac, LA, SA) does it. And when they fail (SA vs. LA), they lose. I don't mean "stubbornly force what they are trying to prevent." But a fluid, patient, thinking offense will get the right players good shots every night, no excuses.

Am I the only one that finds it ironic that a poster with the handle 'CB4ever' is complaining about leadership?

Charles Barkley was a leader. He absolutely imposed his will on every game and every team he was on. He made every player (except maybe Drexler) better. On the court, the only Rocket in recent history with as much on court tenacity may be Steve Francis.

In this Knicks game, win or lose, SF has impressed me more than the Boston game. He's managed the game, involved people, milked hot shooters, made tough shots all with a back that's making him run straight up and down. G-U-T-S, baby.

Way to go Steve. Win or lose, insist on playing the game your way. Oscar would be proud.

I am not very sure about Charles making every player better. MJ made his teammates get better stats and more wins. Charles made Hakeem, Drexler, Pippen and other role players suffer worse stats and less wins.

Steve is also not to the level of making teammates better. He needs to help Yao and EG get more easy shots and more pts. As Oscar said, it's his responsibility as a lead guard.
