    I like mocking the French but they actually have a pretty strong track record fighting terrorism. Through much of the 80's and 90's they dealt with Algerian terrorists and stopped an attempt by hijackers to blow up a plane over Paris in the mid-90's. Lets not also forget they have taken a pretty hard line against Somali pirates and have been fighting alongside the US in Afghanistan.

    Don't mock them. I ran into a gaggle of them hanging outside an Arby's last week. If my car wasn't near they might've forced me to surrender my roast chicken sandwich and curly fries.

    I think it's interesting that suddenly when Sarkozy's popularity is at an all time low he's declaring war and getting aggressive. That's not to say that they haven't been tough on terrorism before and whatever else... just interesting, says I.

    That said, how bad will we look if the French kick their tails. Yeah, I know, we'd take it and it ain't gonna happen anyway, but still.
