As a Rocket fan, I truly hope Eddie is able to walk away from this episode without a criminal record and is completely exonerated.

I hope he learns a valuable lesson, gets his $%#! together, has no future transgressions and develops into the monster NBA player we desire.

Back in the real world, there is a reason some folks are held in a jail cell (with a presumption of innocence) until they get their due process in court. There is prima facie evidence to believe they did it.

It is pretty apparent that someone punched this woman in the face and fired at least two shots from a gun. Unfortunately, regardless of legal concepts, all evidence I've heard points to Eddie.

As a person, I hope he has good lawyers.

As a Rocket fan it makes me sad.

Unless he is cut or waived during this season, the Rockets will have Eddie Griffin's Bird Rights after the 2003-04 season. He would then be a restricted FA in the summer of 2004. If they extend him, he would not be a (restricted) FA until summer 2005.

It's not Les's wifes message, it's Les's aswell. They divorced a year or two ago and the shirts remained. Les is a supporter of animal rights as well. And why exactly is it a middle finger at Houston? That makes absolutely no sense to me. I'd really be interested in you explaining that further because I've really thought about that and I can't for the life of me figure out how it "shows what she thinks of us as a bunch". I don't get it at all. It just shows me the Alexanders believe that animals have rights.

Maybe you just take it too personally because you don't believe in animal rights so it feels like those shirts are a jab at your belief system? I don't get it.

Sorry if I got off subject here but I just found this all to be odd. On the topic of Eddie Griffin. I'm for just keeping him suspended and hoping he shows some sort of remorse and turns it around. However, I don't think his contract should be extended. That just sends the wrong message. If he shows no remorse for his actions (and i'm talking about his abandoning the team more than the other incident which i know too little of right now to really judge) then don't resign him. I hope he gets his life back on track, but sometimes a stance has to be taken.

Now why do you have to bring your stupid political hogwash into this? Is this a politically rally? Don't you know where the HANGOUT FORUM is?

Now back to the REAL issue - I completely disagree with FRan on this. Eddy has not been charged with anything. God help us if our rmployers treat or react to rumours and inuendos about us. He is presently suffering in term of emotional torture and Suspension without pay.

As per Lugo and the Astros deal - the Astros ended up with egg on their face. They acted hypocritical, biased, prejudiced, unconstistutional and unfair. Lugo was exxonerated from the alleged crime - that makes the Astros organization look stupid. The Rox are doing the right thing by allowing what the Fore fathers of this land intended in the constitution for fairness to all residents of theis land.

Once again the Astros organization showed prejudice and poor judgement in Lugo's case. I liked the 'cut' for what it really was - for lack of performance and has cheap in the stingy McLaine's books. Afterall Lugo was a 'first time offender'. Do you think they would have done the same thing if Bagwell, Hidalgo, Berkman, Billy, Boggio or even Ausmus was charged with physically assaulting their spouses? Think again. Astros are just hypocrites and can be likened to Rush Limbaugh or "the government".

    First you write:

Then you go on to blather:

Why not stick to something you actually understand? Unless perhaps hypocisy is your strong suit?

ship him to the trailblazers! he'll fit right in.

in all seriousness, look at the recent legal issues in the NBA-

Jason Kidd- domestic abuse-pled guilty and fined
    Ruben Patterson-domestic abuse- charges dropped
Allen Iverson and Glenn Robinson- both charged with brandishing a weapon on their spouses/loved ones.

do I need to mention Latrell Sprewell?

my point? nobody cares, it will all be forgotten, and eddie can't play basketball well.
