Yao would suffer on defense against Hakeem if he played him one on one. I think Dream could easily put up 40-50 points.

That said, I think Yao could still hold his own on offense. He'd be a lot stronger then Hakeem and that would really affect Dream's ability to get off the floor if you have a 320 pound rock pushing you down.

To put Hakeem and Jefferson in the same sentence is a disgrace.

Jefferson's a fine player, but the mere comparison is laughable at best.

If Dream didnt have problems with a 22 yr old shaq, why would you think he would have problems with Yao? What would yao do when dream started fronting him on d or just playing behind and stripping the ball? What about just outrunning him from end to end on almost every possession? What if yao had to play against the pissed off dream from 86-91. Nevermind.

David Robinson was 7'1" with superior athleticism to Yao and a superior shot blocker as well as a superior defender. Yao should ask the Admeril about the Dream. If the Dream could dominate Robinson as if he were still in grade school what should we think would happen to Yao. It would be uuuuuuugly.

Because Jefferson hasn't accomplish anything in his career yet while Hakeem is an all time great.

Sure it is a disgrace because you're putting the Dream down to the level of Jefferson.

    2x NBA Champion (1994, 1995)
    1x NBA MVP (1994)
    12x All-Star (1985-1990, 1992-1997)
    2x Finals MVP (1994-1995)
2x NBA Defensive Player of the Year (1993-1994)
    6x All-NBA First Team Selection (1987-1989, 1993-1994, 1997)
    3x All-NBA Second Team Selection (1986, 1990, 1996)
    3x All-NBA Third Team Selection (1991, 1995, 1999)
    5x NBA All-Defensive First Team Selection (1987-1988, 1990, 1993-1994)
    4x NBA All-Defensive Second Team Selection (1985, 1991, 1996-1997)
    1985 NBA All-Rookie Team

    What has Jefferson done?

i don't think yao was comparing jefferson to olajuwon in terms of their accomplishments but rather their basketball skillsets.

again, i would compare al jefferson to karl malone instead.

If a young athletic Shaq couldn't stop Dream, Yao surely couldn't. on the offensive end Yao could would be effecient if he gained position but there is no way Yao could but the ball on the floor without getting it stolen. Dream was top 10 historically in steals.

You can talk all the rubbsh in the world and to me your opinions are as good as a rat in the sewage.

Yao can punish a prime athlete like Howard and own him in every matchup. Howard cant score against him and cant defend him. Yet Howard is a far far better athlete than Hakeem.

My point being you cant compare players like you do. You seem to hate Yao's guts so much, it seems personal. Hakeem is a great player but nobody should underestimate Yao's talent and heart. Sure he has physical limitation being 7'6. BUT One on one Yao can score at will against EVERY SINGLE TALENT EVER BORN. so please don't bring your bigot fantasy in here. Be bit more realistic when you open your mouth.

Did you see the description of the video? I especifically love the parts in bold.

Keep in mind this video is NOT meant to say that Yao = Hakeem. That's r****ded. It's just meant to represent SOME similarities in their games, despite the fact that they're very different physically. Hakeem was recently quoted as saying he wants to work with Yao next summer if their schedules allow it and that was basically my inspiration for the video. I hope you like it.

And as far as you comparison of Malone to Jefferson it's not even close. Karl was not a back to basket player. He relied heavily on pick and rolls and his jumpshot. Al has some range but operates better in the paint with his back to the basket. Al skill set is somewhat similar to dreams. Dream just made it look soooo much better. If dream drank water from the fountain of youth and came in this league now, It would be a massacre.
