My guess is that it is some issue between UPN and the satellite distributor. Since most don't seem to have problems with the antennae or with cable, I have to assume it is some type of transmission issue. I did email the Rockets director of broadcasting and let him know about it. He's a cool guy and he has helped to fix problems for people before. He always likes to hear about that kind of stuff so maybe he can let us know what the problem is and if/when it can be fixed.
I have LP through Time Warner and I've noticed the occassional LP blue screen during Rockets games televised on UPN 20. The screen says "Experiencing Technical Difficulties" and it occassionally comes on for seconds at a time . I haven't noticed the picture freezing just the LP blue screen. I don't think its ever happened to me during a FOX SW telecast.
I too would like to download that lovely FSN theme. I've searched Morpheus, but failed in my attempts to find that most enjoyable tune.
Guys, just an update. I got an email back from the Rockets and they said they are looking into it. He included me on a FWD email to the channel 20 chief engineer and KTXH had not heard any complaints directly and did not have any problems on their end. They speculated it could be some conversion issue on the DSS side, but they aren't sure. One suggestion: if you have these problems again, CALL YOUR DIGITAL CABLE OR DISH SYSTEM COMPANY! When they log the complaints, they get forwarded on to the other providers and they go looking for the issues. Also, you could call KTXH directly in Houston and report that the problem only seems to happen when the games are broadcast on their network. I'll keep you posted on what else I hear.
Thanks Jeff It is very annoying. Funny thing is, it only happens during Rocket games (UPN 20 feed). No other NBA game feed has this problem.
All we are asking here is to be able to watch our beloved basketball team without any ****ing interruptions. Is that too much to ask? GO ROCKETS!!
Its a league pass issue. On my Directv it occurs on the league pass stations 720-735 or 600-655 but not on my local channel stations for UPN, I think its 938.
But it only happens once in a while when using rabbit ears or a UPN feed...but when you go to satelite it happens all the time.
