rox4lyf, I've said it many times, i like yao the person and the player. As much as i bash shane, i like him too, but i dont think guys are without faults like all of us as humans. I just dont think he's as good as the fan club says he is.

Its the same posters that when we have discussions about trading players, they bring up cash cow vs having the better player. The same posters who view being good as irreplaceable. The same posters in the game thread who b**** and moan about yao getting touches or shots even when the team wins. Use the search function and check the game threads from this past yr vs prior years. I dont have a problem with pulling for their heroes, just dont make it seem like the rockets were nothing prior or after. Alot of guys came to the site because of yao, but review the history of the franchise before making some of those comments. This franchise has great pedigree and that should be respected i think.

Im going to throw my 2 cents in for what its worth. I think with out a doubt Yao opts out of his contract. Team Yao has to know by now that Morey is about winning and is willing to make hard decisions. With that said here is why Yao or any other sane person in his position would opt out, Yao with only one year on his deal is a lame duck, in the back of his mind the whole season we would be worried about getting injured in a contract year and not being resigned. Opting out and signing a new deal past next season takes the pressure of him and if he does have a set back or gets injured he knows he does not have to worry about not having a max level contract. Its the same reason Dirk is opting out he does not want to get hurt and end up in the position Tracy Mcgrady is in right now. Which is Jobless hoping that some team is stupid enough to give him the mle once he cant preform at the Max level salary that he once did. If Yao does not opt out I would be Shocked.

My problem is your attempt to try to make it out like there is a whole crowd of people who disrespect the team. That's why I asked for your numbers which you failed to give. If you make a poll and ask whether Dennis Rodman or Horace Grant was a better rebounder in the early 1990's, I can assure you will have a few crazy folks who vote for Grant. No one will lose any sleep over it. Please don't keep hiding behind the banner that you love this team. I am sure at least 90% of the people here love and respect this team. But you are the only one who try to stir up the pot in different threads by making up fallacies. I have alot of connections with alot players,coaches and others. I never guaranteed anything regarding tracy and i couldnt give a crap about tracy because he's not here helping my team win. I do believe and said if tracy plays ball, they wouldve offered him a contract, but he didnt and he got traded. None of u guys can ever pigeon hole me to any player. I've always been a guy for the front of the jersey, not the back.I've watched the 2 time mvp get traded and when hakeem contract demans got to big vs his production, they traded him. As long as the rockets are getting and keeping the best players to help win a ring, thats all i care about. As far as i,m concerned, tracy and yao both failed this organization. They stayed in the hot tub, came up small when it counted most, and have one sorry 2nd rd appearnce to show for having max money in 5 o 6 years.

It seems the players you do not like (Battier, Scola, Yao, ...) have some characters in common: humble, hard-working, team-first, no nonsense ... You might not be a TMac a fan, but I can understand why a TMac fan feels offensive about those characters.

Yetti, u remember in the dallas playoffs, game 4 i think, and tracy and yao missing 4th qt free throws? What the utah series, game 7, and couldnt get a rebound? We cant talk about the next yr cause he didnt play in the playoffs and last yr against la he got hurt again. Nothing but disappointment and failure for tracy,yao,and shane. Why? The 3 so called leaders,most experienced,highest paid players.
