Whatever Johnny Come Lately  . i will be here after he i gone, i was here before he came, can you say the same?
Get a grip, dude! The Rockets were dealing with this crap long before Yao came upon the scene. 25 years ago, it was (at the time) future Hall of Famer Ralph Sampson who was injured, then struggled, was eventually traded, and out of the league no long after. At least Yao has the best medical care possible to treat his injury, which is not what Ralph received, in my opinion. Not only Sampson, but we were "injured" by the white powder that robbed the Rocks of some of their best players and their depth. This **** happens. A fan of the team suffers and looks to the future. Ten years after Sampson, John Lucas, Mitch Wiggins, and "Sweet Lew" Lloyd were history, we were winning championships. Patience!
You win, your right I will leave as soon as he does......I only been watching the Rockets since 1990's........and sorry i didn't join the Clutchfans site as soon as it opened, I have been reading way before i join. Just because you don't post stuff, doesn't make you a non-fan.
Calm down old man  . I forget and appearently you forgot who we're dealing with on this board. The rockets minus yao are nothing nd never was anything prior to
You know.....if i could i would probably laugh with you...but I can't soooooooooo instead I am just going to say......... I hope you wake up next to Yao, so you can fulfill your fantasy to see just how dominant Yao is.....in bed. okay i was joking but i thought it was funny to wake up next to somebody you hate and despise with passion.
I don't hate yao honestly. I know some of you find it hard to believ, but i really like yao. I don't think he's the player some of his worshippers think he is, but i just think we're getting screwed from a money/ production standpoint and its time to move on. Do i think he can still play? Yes. Do i think he's a number 1 option? No. Number 2? Probably not either. I think at this stage and until proven other wise, anything more than 15ppg and 7 rebs is a blessing. Now if you have higher expectatins than that, go ahead. If you think he will be injury free, thats your thing also. If you think the rockets can win a title with their highest paid player being limited to 2- mins, thats waterfalls.
I might have been a bit sceptical of that at one time, Leeb, because you were the same way with Scola, while saying the whole time that you liked him, but that he was too old and just didn't fit. Over the course of this past season, you changed your mind about him and said so. Not what you thought about his age, obviously, but his value to the Rockets. Sure, you'd toss him in a minute for a longer, more athletic player who produced, with upside, but at least you're consistent.
I thought scola was a haslem type of player. Then i started watching him and just focusing on him and saw more. Those crazy post moves work better than i thought they would minus yao. He's proven to be very, very durable and last year vs the lakers when they were losing game seven and he was fighting with odom down the floor for the ball told me alot about the guy. I always fear the high energy players when they get older though. Kareem played better later in his career than moses. Moses consummed so much energy all the time to be great that when he didn't have it, he fell off like a rock. kareem was the finals mvp at the age of 37! Ben wallace is also another guy who fell off once he couldn't sustain his same energy level. Thats my biggest fear about scola, but if the rockets can get him for 3 yrs and 8m a pop, then that would be cool. Hopefully by year 3 hill will be taking over his minutes if he's declining.
You are weak if you have to attack someone's history as a basketball fan in a debate. So if he does not agree with you in a debate about Yao, he must be a new basketball fan? Your logic is dumb.
What nerve have you struck? I saw you make accusation based on assumption which you cannot prove. I say it is dumb.
This guy needs a 1) life 2) a girl friend 3) a friend. His mission seems to be to make himself noticeable online. He's probably feeling pretty good about himself because he has 10,000 posts on a blog forum where he considers himself to be an important individual, one whose opinion is superior to others. TBS - Very funny.
Why would i have a girlfriend when i have a wife. My friends will testify that I'm as good of friend as anyone could have. Whether thats paying for a wedding, a players only trip to the big easy,or just hanging talking life, ball, and everything. My drive to make it has allowed me alot of free time. 10000 posts in 10 yrs is basically 1000 per yr. Say what you want, it doesnt fade me. When alot of the posters think the franchise will fold if not for yao, i take offense to that. When after a loss or even a win the board is filled with why yao didnt get the ball,i take offense to that. What most of the fanboys dont understand is that the rockets are bigger than yao ming just as its bigger than any player.
What exactly do you mean when T-mac went down? was it like someone landed on his foot and broke it like when Tim Thomas landed on Yao? Or do you mean when T-mac DNPs. If that's the case, then I hope have good health insurance. Well T-mac is gone, so that saves you the weekly trip to the clinic.
Definitely agree about the entire clutchfans culture where knee jerk reactions happen often. And I also agree that many people are entirely pro Yao and cannot see thru his flaws. However, I think that you are transferring your frustration and animosity towards those pro Yao fans onto Yao himself, which I feel is wrongly directed. It is not Yao's fault that he has billions of fans, some of which worship him as if he were some kind of a deity. The same goes with all the Kobe fans and Lebron fans who nut hug them no matter what to the point it gets sickening. Nevertheless, you are absolutely practical if you believe that at the salary Yao will likely command that he is not a worthwhile investment given his laundry list of injuries. That I absolutely cannot fault you for. However, correct me if I'm wrong, it seems like many of your contemptuous posts about Yao result from all the ridiculous love he gets from members on this msg board (which you have alluded to your quoted statement). That I feel is unfair to Yao, a guy who does everything, in spite of the bad luck that has plagued him for the past five years, for the fans, the city of Houston, the Houston Rockets, and his motherland.
