i don't agree completely with what he had to say, but compared to what rosen had wriiten about us in the past, this is a much better and more objective one.

Heads on article and it amazes me that i've never noticed it before but indeed McGrady's defence is not as it's supposed to be. I mean, i don't even notice he's there on defence unless he makes a steal. I will try to keep an eye on it before i say something about it but it seems he's not aggresive on D like's he supposed to be. If you look at the 90s Rockets with SG's like Maxwell & Elie, they would keep their hands in their opponents face and play aggresive all the time. When you watch a game of the 90s Rockets you always notice Maxwell on D because he waves his hands and 90% locked on his man, i've never noticed T-mac ever playing aggresive. That doesn't mean i say he's bad or not defending well but i just never noticed it. If he's really bad and not aggresive he should step it up.

LOL! That was exactly my thought. Also, we held them to 83 points, continuing to be one of the best teams holding opponents to less than 90 points sinec 2002.

I remember that play too, agree with his rotation indecision. JVG and Tom Tibby would have been all over him, Scola came one year too late for his NBA D to be honed. Shane, Hayes, or TMac needs to take him aside and show him the JVG rotation system, none of the current coaching staff seems to know it, they just kept the old system intact.

I actually don't think that the article was that bad. He's pretty knowledgeable about the game, and he doesn't seem to play any favorites (except Duncan). Sure, he overstates a lot of things and makes broad generalizations based on one game, but I like the way he blasts everyone to smithereens, though thankfully it wasn't us this time.

When T-Mac and Yao both hit half their shots, the Role players have 3 or 4 in double figures, and the Rockets shoot 35% from 3 point range, then they will be firing on all cylinders.

The fact that the Rockets are winning games against solid teams like GSW, Portland, Cleveland, SAS without monster games from Yao and T-Mac is encouraging.

Tmac won't play tough defense for more than 3-4 plays a game unless he plays under JVG again. That's pretty sad.

This was a pretty accurate assessment by Rosen. His articles about the Rockets are usually a bit more venomous, but I think this time he was more or less bang on.

where's the analysis? it sounds more like a detailed blow-by-blow recounting of what happened than a break-down of the game. rosen has always been and will always be a first-class idiot. worthless.

I thought Mcgrady played proper D in the third quater when we blew them out. He was contesting shots and making them pay hard. Granted he was on Martell Webster who wasn't doing much. I think he seriously is cruising. That game was a game where he didnt need to put full intensity on it. It looks like to me his taking it easy until the All star break. Smart move, because it'll keep his body in shape with the extra rest he'll be ready to go hopefully
