LOL he happened to be in the vicinity. Right place right time. And yes you will find clips of him getting an offensive rebound hence him not averaging 0 offensive rebounds per game. Aside from that he is the most despicable, uninterested, anti-competitor, in the history of offensive rebounding.
Marcus Camby has led the league in blocks on a number of occasions, and he also made the list. Being a good shot-blocker doesn't mean you're a tough, physical defender. McGrady's few poster dunks a season doesn't mean he doesn't regularly shy away from contact. I don't even judge him to harshly on that -- if I had his injury history, I'd pick my spots as well. McGrady wouldn't last a week trying to attack the basket like LeBron or Wade.
At this period of time in his career? Yes I agree. He wouldn't. That doesn't make him soft... Your body deteriorates over time you know. Yes he's 29 but he's played 12 season in the NBA already. Same thing happened to Vince Carter. Is that list like ESPN or NBA.com official? You shouldn't follow Fox sports. They're horrible.
dude, you don't know who the pilsbury dough boy is? <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/l_I3br9m-68&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/l_I3br9m-68&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
"Official" lists like these are still going to be pretty arbitrary so it wouldn't make much of a difference. In fact, you could go to ESPN and NBA.com right now and find a ton of horrible lists. With Rosen it's just funny because he's consistently wrong but acts like he knows something you don't.
close thread. but, really the logic used in the article is plain stupid, so who dunks and always takes to the rim = tough , if the player jumpshoots alot hes soft, and yeah so artest is the biggest wimp playing in the nba
Brad Miller, for example, is a muscular, powerful player but at the same time, is far from being deemed a toughie by his peers. WTF? Kevin Martin: If he was just a mite tougher, he'd be a truly elite player. WTF? 10.3 Free throws Attempted per game last season How the heck does that make him a softie? He gets to the line 10 times a game This list is crap.
He said Tmac has never had an offensive rebound. I gave him evidence. I don't know? Because someone felt like putting it... Why are you asking me?
Peja Stojakovic: Don't touch him, and he won't touch you. wow that was hilarous i loled if tmac was soft he wouldnt be known for dunking, yes due to circumstances of not having much cartilage in his knee he was unable to do so but that doesnt make someone soft if they are unable. If he was soft we would never have known him for all those amazing dunks he gave us, he doesnt shy away from contact, hes a professional at taking contact and 1. I know many of you forget this but against the jazz the man was a 1 man team without yao and he gave his heart and he took the contact, he took on multiple defenders and he gave it his all. thats not soft. Soft is kirilenko the flopper and his ashton kutcher looking boyfriend korver.
What's sad is that he had to stoop to Steven Hunter just so it wouldn't seem like he was just mailing in the softies part of the list. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/steven_hunter/index.html Can a guy be soft on the court whenever he doesn't even play a single game in a season?
McGrady's softness is a combination of things although some of it is not his fault or is just him being smart -He does not go the basket as much as he should. I have no problem with him not going hard at the rim and slamming into people. He wouldn't last a whole game doing that. What did bother me is that he seemed to not even try to get in the lane for short jumpers. Too many contested 20 footers looks bad on a guy who is 6'8", super athletic with nice handles. -He gets passive when defenders bump him. We've seen this plenty of times from him. No excuses there. -He coasts on defense often. Again no excuse. -He talks a lot to the media and doesn't back it up. -He has never been out of the first round. -He is injured often. Not his fault but that's life. It's not hard to see why he is considered soft by so many people. He is soft compared to the players he is measured against.
