lol...you continue to support george bush, who has done far more damage to this country than any "terrorists" could have ever dreamed possible.

i don't know about you, but i never thought i would live in a country where our government advocated for a policy of torture and the president's former legal council claimed he can sexually torture children, conducted warrentless wiretaps on american citizens, ignored the constitution, took away the right to habeas corpus, allowed people to be held indefinitely w/out charges or opportunity to appear before a court, had "free speech zones" at public events, lied us into an unnecessary war that has no hope of being resolved anytime soon, left our borders wide open and destroyed our sovereignty with the north american union and spent $2.6 billion of the american people's tax dollars on fake news and propaganda to name just a few things.

if "the terrorists" really hate our freedom than bush has played right into their hands.

is obama business partners with the bin ladens and the saudis like the bushs are?

gannon/guckert must have been like, so jealous when he saw george holding hands with another man.

It was a joke....but it is EXACTLY why I believe that Obama can NOT win the whitehouse.

Too many morons in this country will look at his name and simply vote for someone else.

The dems need to be smart...and not nominate Obama or Hillary, or they have no chance of winning.

Obama as a VP would be ok, but that might even hurt their chances.

Whether we like it or not, this country still has too many red necks and bigots....

Now is not the time to press those issues, it is the time to win the whitehouse and repeal all the garbage that Bush has done.

it was a joke. it was also bigotted, tired, and quite frankly, boring. the comment afterwards by the VP saying moveon.org owned the democratic party was an even sicker joke. i wish it were true as they know who they are and what they want. how, for the love of god, could the dems imagine having a debate on fox news? are they stupid?

I would like to see some more context to the joke because rereading the article again it still sounds like Ailes is making fun of GW Bush confusing Barack Obama with Osama Bin Ladin rather than making fun of Barack Obama. Without seeing more context this seems like the Dems overreacting.

No, it wasn't just a joke. He also made one about Hillary, but not one about any Repub. He then went on to complain about the Dems response to the Nevada debate. Ailes was a Reagan appartchik and now he controls Fox News, which is not nearly so much Conservative as it is a mouthpiece for the current Republican Party.

    And context?

This is the same organization that "broke" the false story about Obama's "radical muslim education."

Here some more context for why Dems might be a little ticked off...

Do you have a link to his whole interview? I would like to see it to judge for myself.

Also I am well aware of Ailes history but without understanding more about this interview the statement in question strikes me as making fun of Bush.
Those things though wasn't this particular interview. Yes Fox News has a history of favoring the Republican party. Was this particular interview a sign they were? I don't know and if the Democrats were willing to have a debate on Fox before I don't see why this particular joke would've been the difference maker. If they believed Fox was so biased to begin with they shouldnt have agreed in the first place.

Edwards was the one who got the ball rolling on this and refused the invitation to the debate. I think this was just the straw that broke the camel's back.

it is not *just* a joke though
    it is a pointed joke

    It serves 1 purpose
to continue to associate his name recognition with terrorism
to constantly make joe American think of Osama when they think of him

being funny is far far secondary

    It is pure manipulation
