Hmm.. And its been widely known that players LOVE to play under Adelman so would that help out us getting some players to help out 111?

so jerry sloan and byron scott held him down too? seems the league is trying to keep synder down...not his poor play.

    If your 7 and 8th man suck...why go to the 9th? I

More or less because the only place i've ever heard that mention is on the GARM. I've never heard it from any new outlets and can't think of any player that stated, I don't want to go there because JVG was there

maybe because he is more athletic than the 7th and 8th, as well as being able to cut to the basket more.

This team needs much more than a new coach. I think JVG squeezed as much out the talent he had as anyone could. A few fresh offensive ideas would be nice. Better post game interviews are a lock, they couldn't get any worse. A more positive, motivating climate would be good. But, mainly, more talent is needed. If Rafer Alston is the starting PG on this team next season, I MAY have to find another hobby. There are limits to suffering. (don't start celebrating too early, because I am counting on the fact that Rafer is history, at least as a starter.)

    Pocket,

I get the argument that a change is needed - even if I disagree with you about whose fault it is that we didn't get out of the first round. I respect your opinion, just disagree...

I do not in any way think it is acceptable to blame JVG for the personnel decisions, though. That was all CD & Les.

And Morey gets a pass as GM b/c it's his first year? WTF? I know my employer doesn't give me a year to get my act together. Anyway, Morey WANTED JVG TO STAY but got nixed on that by Les, so what does that tell you about how effective Morey will be?

    Amel,

Find me a post where you explained ANYTHING step by step.

Your posts usually consist of some 14 year old-like exclamation of "JVG sucks! Vspan rules! Vspan forever!111111111111"

None of us "love" JVG - we just respect him as a great coach, like his players, and like 99.9% of the NBA. We don't see how Adelman is a step up, b/c it is not coaching that is an issue, it is the players - specifically, the bench.

The bench sucks. Despite your manlove for Vspan - it sucks.

Adelman can't change that. CD should have. Morey should, but might be hamstrung by Les. Les is a freaking idiot when it comes to basketball decisions. The guy is becoming the Jerry Jones of the NBA.

So we wonder why CD & Morey could not give JVG shooters & bangers.

    Simple as that.

All your posts have done is show that you believe the team's destiny depends on the playing time of a second round rookie who turns the ball over like it's burning on one side, and whines when he does not get his way.

You can sniff Vspan's jock until the cows come home but he fact remains that so far Vspan is a legend only in his own mind, while JVG is a valued & respected coach.

He failed to get us to the 2nd round, but it was sure as hell not because there was anyone on the bench that he could have played to help do that.

Man, I hope I am wrong about this move and about Vspan's ability (I hope that I AM wrong and we kick ass), but if Adelman doesn't propel us to the WCF's, and Vspan doesn't become a Ginobili clone, next year, I wonder what the excuses on this board will be.

    fair enough...

as far as morey...this will be his first year...he was the assistant to cd this past year....he hasn't done anything yet under his tenure. Who said it will be a pass?

you said the players should be morey's doing not jvg....and i said this will be moreys first year so how can the players be on him?

adelman is also a valued and respected coach.
he had a better bench against dallas and failed there too.

i personally am not saying adelman is god, but he has the ability to get a team to the 2nd round and further numerous times.

of course if he doesn't than we will say the same things about adelman that we said about jvg, just with noting different flaws.

Well according to your post the players have to be partly "his" as he was CD's assistant.

We should then attribute most of the blame for the fact that we have no PF, no PG, and a useless bench on CD then, as well.

But Pocket, JVG has gotten teams to the 2nd round & further when he has had shooters & bangers, remember?

He didn't here b/c he didn't have those kinds of players. Is everyone here forgetting that our main weapon, Tmac, has NEVER been out of the first round?

Is it his coaches to blame? Doubtful. He has publicly stated that JVG is the best coach he ever played for!

So then it's probably partly (a little) his fault, as well as that of the scrubs he played with, and the GM's who surounded him with scrubs.
