i said he should bring us past the 1st....i didnt say he will.

wasnt it false hope to think we had a chance in the playoffs this year?

iirc, we have a whole offseason to make a few changes

raise your hand if you think this exact team will stay intact for next season?

I never said you wanted Rudy back.

    Having comprehension problems?

Wow. Gundy firing must have done more damage to you than I thought it would.

right. well since you like to keep tabs on what i've said in the past. you should know my position. its not that hard to comprehend.

and labeling me as a jvg lover (or whatever you want) doesnt really mean squat.

if i've said it once i've said it a thousand times...The biggest weakness of this team was its players not coaching. Do you disagree with that?

Sorry, but im a believer in players making plays and winning games in the crunch. I dont try to fool myself that the rockets are starting a new " 7 year dynasty" just b/c the coach is changed.

Nice attempt to sidetrack while getting caught with your pants down Donkey. I like! :D

    Relax.... take deep breaths...

We got rid of one of the problems which was the coach.

Next we will get rid of the players that are problematic.

We are working from ground up or ground bottom....whatever the hell that is.

Any chance Adelman will add Clyde to the coaching staff?

There really isn't much more to discuss on this subject until we see how the team does next year. I don't blame JVG because I don't really think he under performed, nor do I don't have any problem with Adelman. I think he is a good hire all things considered. I just don't see the current roster being any closer to winning a title with Adelman than we were before Adelman. Roster moves will be the difference maker there. We can only speculate on how much control JVG had on the roster or how much Adelman will have now. I can't say Morey excites me though. If we could have coaxed Jerry West here as GM that would have been a much bigger improvement than changing coaches.

Remember that fan opinion doesn't always equal the right choice. After all the fans wanted Harold Miner the year we drafted Robert Horry.

Well, that is my basic point. Almost everyone agrees the talent level needs upgrading. So why put the total blame on the coach??

It does not follow that a coach who can get players to "overachieve" can't excel with upgraded talent... a lot of people believe that any number of coaches could have won at least one championship with the Michael Jordan Bulls or the Kobe/Shaq Lakers.

dude i'm fine. But when people start throwing crap out there like coaching is all the rockets needed to turn the corner, then thats just ignorance. And then trying to discredit a respectable man for losing with flawed rosters...thats just wrong on multiple levels.

And this is where we disagree, i dont think coaching was the problem and the league obviously didnt think so since he was a COY candidate. I get that someone had to take the fall b/c lord knows people will do anything to stay away from the conclusion that maybe the guys on the floor just werent and arent good enough.

its all there in front of us. The rockets have 2 offensive weapons. 1 of which completely depends on others to get him the ball. Couple that with 3 players who are offensively deficient (1 is non existant) and i think the picture is pretty clear.

those first few sentences are spot on.

im a little concerned about morey too. He's a smart guy obviously but he certainly didnt come across that great after this ordeal...sort of like a "yes man".

Haven't you been paying attention? There never was a GM only JVG. Yes, JVG and JVG alone is responsible for this roster. Why I'm sure that if you even look back in time 6 years, it was JVG who traded away 3 draft picks for Eddie Griffin. Why now that I look at it, I'll bet that it was JVG's fault we were in the NBA lottery because a better coach wouldn't have let Yao & Tmac get hurt last year. We should all rejoice and give thanks that he no longer has the opportunity to prevent this team from reaching its full "potential".

Oh I get it: you'd much rather look at the facts and deal in reality than blame JVG. You are no fun... ;)

could it be that the offensive system held back some of our players? Where was snyder all this time? We needed a 9 man rotation but jvg stuck with 7.5.

Actually I remember a few of the usual suspects argue that it wsa JVG's fault that they got hurt...

Would upgraded talent want to play for Van Gundy, or Adelman.

There are players out there that have said, many others would not consider signing w/ Houston because VG is the coach.
