Man that's a very low blow on Van Gundy. He wasn't even there, and he should not be responsible for an event not organized by the Rockets, but totally out of the initiative of Tracy McGrady. If anyone is responsible, then it is TMAC and the organizers. This is something very unfortunate already. Please don't crack jokes about this.
I agree with previous posters who think the classy thing to do is wait to hear if Chuck is OK. Only if he is will this become hilarious, and perhaps he will have acquired superpowers. Until then, we should just hope he's OK.
I guess I am being insensitive, but, for the record, I'm probably the biggest JVG supporter this side of Almu. Love the guy. Was being sarcastic, and sort of lampooning all those posts such as "Van Dummy causes good shooters to become worse shooters by practicing them too hard, thereby tiring their legs." (Yes. People actually made that argument.) Basically, I think Van Gundy takes a lot of flak for no good reason. He's an easy target. I loved him when we brought him on board, and call me a Pollyana, but I'm still sticking by him. Apologies if this offended anyone.
I watched the news last night, this story wasn't on there, its not on chron.com, its not in the actual print version, it isn't on the rockets web site. what's the deal?
The deal is nothing is wrong with Chuck Hayes. The whole issue of electrocution was just a hearsay blowup. It is not that critical to warrant any news reports. No news is good news. So, start making jokes.
could you imagine the smell if it were kemp that got burnt? wow that would clear out a stadium, olympic sized.
from what it hear, there was carpet in the dugout that they were in. an inside source told me that juwan was eyeing chuck's sunglasses in the back of his pocket. juwan ran over to hayes while he was turned around getting water. juwan's running created enough static electricity on the carpet that when he reached over for haye's sunglasses it didn't mix to well with the water he was getting out the cooler. not really. thx for the info, faos. good to hear that it wasn't anything serious. this just goes to show how vulnerable any team is to losing a player to the most random thing. extremely weird.
He's fine, but as Austin Powers would say, "That's what he gets for having such an electrifiying personality." "You can just see the sparkle in his eye."
Someone told me late last night that he would go back today (Sunday)to the docs to double check that he's ok and feeling alright.
In 15 years we need to have a wierdest offseason accident poll. Who are you going to vote for? Kenny Thomas getting bitten on the face by a dog at an airport? Chuck Hayes and the watercooler of doom? And of course there was... Pete... Johnson opening fire on a hornets nest in 2011. So many to chose from. Glad he's ok though. That's one of my biggest hopes for the season, to have guys step it up bigtime like Chuck.
K-9 getting bit on the face! That's got to be the wildest, IMO. Man, I sure wish we had K-9 at the 4 spot, dog bite and all.
