Then they are wrong. Just another reason to not trust Hoopshype.

Patrick Patterson is under contract for 2.096 million garunteed next season and there is a team option for 3.1 million in the 2013 / 2014 season.

What is a good site to get salary information since Hoopsyhpe is not accurate?

I think Morey is going to push hard to keep Lee longterm in an attempt to help get Howard. I really don't see another reason for Morey to pay him $5+ mil per year. I think Lee is good but I agree with trying to get a higher grade player there. Maybe Morey sees paying Lee $5 - 6 mil / year and getting solid offense/defense as a more valuable investment and makes the team more flexible by putting him in the starting lineup and moving Martin's 1 dimensional $13 million dollar contract. I could see the value in that philosophy if correct.

If Morey decides to move Lowry and Martin this summer then its going to be for an upgrade in the paint as he did last year. Looks like Dragic and Lee are our 1 - 2 combination going forward which is good but would not be considered the quality of players necessary to carry the team to the finals in my opinion. Now, a Dragic/Lowry PG tandem would do serious damage and a Lee + 2 way player upgrade over him can give us a fighting chance but as we know, our biggest weakness was our frontcourt last year (cough - Scola - cough-cough Dalembert). We have to have frontcourt help to shut down penetration and that's going to cost us atleast Lowry.

If Howard were to get traded to us, it would cost ATLEAST Lowry, Martin + Bud?, Motiejunas?, 14th Pick?. In addition, we would probably be forced to take back a crappy contract. If Howard doesn't get moved and becomes a FA, we hope Lee + a deep team at every other position can sway him over.

    Obviously this would be ideal:

    PG - Lowry / Dragic
    SG - Martin / Lee
    SF - Parsons / Morris
    PF - Scola / Patterson
    C - Howard / Camby

    Not gonna happen.

This whole report is based on a conversation he had with Daryl Morey today (that's where Berman was).

NBA sources told FOX 26 Sports the Rockets plan to give Lee the required tender by June 30 that will make him a restricted free agent, giving Houston the right to match any offer he gets.

League sources told FOX 26 the Rockets will exercise that right, matching any offer Lee gets, keeping him in a Houston uniform.

    Seriously... that's new news?

Berman's great. This report is not.
