Did Landry even play center? I have no clue...I'm just asking. That's a tiny center.

Have you actually watched him play? Dude has tremendous potential and his athleticism(just insane) and defensive instincts are highly developed. He will always have a spot in the NBA........

Purdue did not even list a starter as a center while Landry played. They started all guards and forwards.

Harris is a better overall player than Dorsey. He'll suprise you and he can rebound at a pretty good clip too.

too bad that's back then (when landry wasn't that banged up)...but looking at now, dorsey's future looks better, especially with landry's bad knees and all (http://clutchfans.net/news/1461/carl_landry_to_miss_minimum_two_games/ ..lol, minimum two games :D )

Are you serious? You lost me at the best big man in 20 years. I think Dorsey has what it takes to make the team. He's a big man that plays BIG! We need that enforcer on our team. Him in the line up with Yao = Hard times in the lane for opposing teams.

Actually that was when he was still recuperating from his knee surgery. Think about how they said he increased his vertical 4 inches from the beginning of last season to when he started getting pt. So figure he was going against Oden weaker and on a knee that wasn't quite healed.

I am not saying that Dorsey is bad, just that probably Oden wasn't quite healed either when he was playing Landry. Keep in mind Oden had hand surgery at the beginning of his freshman season, so he was gimpy too. By the tournament he was better.

Just saying that there was extenuating circumstances in both instances.

I think you're making too much out of a single college game. It's unlikely that Dorsey will have the type of year that Landry had a year ago, but he should be a solid NBA player. Reports are that the Rockets are trying to sign him up to a 3 year deal, so he seems to be very much in their plans.

    Dorsey is a fouling machine.

4/4, play above the rim, that's what we need. The opponenets' defense will honor Dorsey's pressence by paying semi-attention to him and prevent him cutting to the rim instead of totally ignoring him. At least can count as 0.5 player in offense (0 as in Hayes case).

Beast on offensive board - extra possessions. I think Dorsey will be the best rebounder in the Rockets.

Guys like Oden only come around every now and then. He'll be the same type of big man as Hakeem or Ewing. Those guys came in the 80's so yeah 20 yrs. Ok maybe I'm exagerating a bit cause I'd lump Yao in that big man camp too. But the point is that big guys like Oden that can play at this elite level are rare. So Landry's stats against Oden and Dorsey's nonstats against Oden are a pretty good indication of what they can do against premium NBA competition. I just don't think Dorsey has got it.

Landry's knees are fine. Nothing wrong with them. He bumped it and was out for awhile...so what? I've bumped my knee and have been out for two weeks while the swelling and the fluid went back down.

Maybe instead of being the next Ben Wallace, he’s the next Danny Fortson! :p

LOL! Dorsey has better physical body and athleticism. Fortson couldnt be compare to Dorsey's rebounding abilities. I think Dorsey can easily be top 10 in rebounding rate in NBA. Dorsey obviously is a good weak side shot blocker too.

Could Fortson dunk? I cant remember.

But Fortson could shoot FT though.

I think you're skipping over David Robinson, Shaquille O'neal, and Tim Duncan. They were pretty good.

fortson was a beast on the boards. if dorsey is that good on the boards then we would have a major steal.
