Unless phil jackson said he would coach the rockets, give adelman an extension! that shouldve been job one! Who else can get a group of guys from all walks of life and nationalities to buy into a system, gel as one and go out every nite and compete??? I havent seen that kind of comradery from a team since rudy coached the team.

I do remember a FEW instances of where I questioned Aldeman's decision making.

    But yes, EXTEND the man!

extend his contract for sure...i like the way he responds to his players and i dont think we could get a better coach than him after this season.

I didn't think about the Landry incident, but I thought he wanted more physical security for himself and his staff. I then immediately realized it was related to job security without reading any of the posts.

Adelman is absolutely right, he has done a hell of a job.
He coaches every year with a major star out with injuries for extended period of times and the team has done very well under his direction.

I was very critical of him in his 1st year with us,when we lost so easily to teams like Philly. I do feel he deserves an extension, based on the fact, that our defense has been consistently good. I think he will be able to rally the guys to fight hard on most nights, irrespective of the results.

Adelman deserves an extension. Part of building a great team is stability in the front office and coaching staff and Adelman is one of the best coaches in the NBA. The Rockets are lucky to have him as a coach.

I agree with your sentiment, but Rick outcoached the crap out of both McMillan and Jackson consistently in the playoffs. In the end sheer roster power won out, but Rick was brilliant. While I might admit Jackson is better than Adelman, I wouldn't pick him over Adelman as coach of the Houston Rockets. We are in good hands.

I like Adelman but meh. Extend him now, later, whatever. It will happen when it happens. At least squeeze the most out of him this year. If he feels secure, knows the playoffs are a longshot, he could get lazy during this mystery 2009 season. Nothing in his past suggests this but you never know. The way the economy is... the ball is in Houston's court. Not Adelman's.

The only reason I can see that they haven't extended him yet is if the team completely sucks....they'll just blow it up for 2010. Coach and everything. If the team is doing decent they'll extend him during the season.

I say we wait...... he's had his chances and honestly I don't know how long we're going to keep the tmac and yao project running. If we're blowing the team up eventually then we might be able to just get a coach filler when that time comes.

Its kind of sick knowing in the last 10 years, Pops and Jackson have 7 of those championships. Go back to 15 years, Pops and Jackson have 11 Championships out of that 15.

Sad to say Pops and Jackson still have a very good chance to win another one between both of them.

If I was rick, I would be trying to get back to portland. Nate is year to year and if they don't make a major run with that talent, he might be out. Rick might use it as a power move because he knows and everyone in the league know he's a top flight coach.
