I really don't think Parcells has anything to do with it. He was kind of mailing it in the last two years and the players were starting to tune him out. fwiw, I don't think romo was necessarily his find. And some of the picks he had mancrushes on have been pretty big busts(Spears, Fasano , and goldilocks).
Yeah it does say up to four weeks. I've broken fingers before though and it will definitely affect him if he tries to come back before it is fully healed.
As long as he misses 1 week, I can make fun of some coworkers for Romo being a pansy. TY, romo... and god bless that pinky.
Right? Several QB's would probably just tape it up. But then a pinky has more movement upon release of a ball, so maybe not. BTW- Here in Dallas they are saying it may be history repeating itself. It seems that Staubach broke his finger during a SuperBowl run.
Brad Johnson has nowhere near the mobility Romo does and he arm is not as strong either so he won't be able to stretch the field even with the weapons he has.
Right on everything but Fasano is not a bust. He was coming along nicely last season and then he got traded. So far he's been okay w/ Miami.
Kevin Curtis. You forgot to mention the Anthony Spencer injury. That's not that huge a loss on defence but it was on special teams on Sunday seeing as Spencer would have been on the field instead of Curtis.
Trade deadline is tomorrow, bet if the boys offered up a 3rd for Sage, the Texans wouldn't hesitate this time around to pull the trigger(Course they would bring back Boyd the next day, for all you people that is ready to jump on this post).
bust may have been too strong of a word, but he clearly was not worth the 2nd rounder they invested in him at all. I thought he pretty much stunk it up in Dallas. He didn't get on the field that much, but when he did I remember him killing us with holding penalties and dropped passes. He sure as hell didn't make plays. I'd say he's been serviceable in Miami. But I was on record as saying trading him away was stupid. At the least he was solid depth. I would have rather kept him and used last years 2nd rounder on another position, but w/e.
Do you have any recollection of the state of the franchise before Parcells? Sure, the players started tuning him out (like they have at every place he's been at), but he is still largely responsible for most of the key players/staff/success that they've had over the last year. As a coach, he definitely seemed to have lost a little of the fire (and hence why he's not a coach now)... but he's still a supreme talent evaluator and overall team architecht (even if he some of his recent picks were faulty, he had some pretty damn good picks for the Cowboys as well). Romo wasn't his pick... but he sure as hell helped develop him into the QB he is today. Could you imagine if another staff (or even the Texans) were in charge of his development? Sort of like Gerry Hunsicker and the 2005 Astros. Yes, techinically Pupura was in charge, but they were all mostly Gerry's key moves.
Of course I remember the turmoil the franchise was in before Parcells got there. Those were highly highly aggravating times. And I give Parcells a lot of credit for helping to right the ship. Specifically his coaching. It was perfect for what the franchise needed at that time. But to say this is Bill's team is ridiculous. Yeah, there were definitely Parcell picks in there(some big notable ones that I pointed out were definitely guys he pushed for), but it was not just him running the ship. It's pretty clear there was a lot of group-think in Dallas. Kind of like there still is now. It's not just a team blowing around at the whims of JJ like it was in times past(though it certainly could revert back to that at any time). If BP would have completely had his way, this team would have been loaded with a bunch of old fart veterans and the team would have crumbled almost as soon as he left, like most of the other places he's been.
