Think about how streaky this team is...do you really want them going into the playoffs with a losing streak??? Also, you can never second guess winning. You definitely can second guess intentional losing - whether it seems to pay off in the short run or not. I'm sorry, but I can not be a fan of a team that loses intentionally - it's classless and is totally disrespectful to the fans who paid money for a ticket. It's one thing if a player is nursing an injury, but that's not the case here.
The Road to the Championship means you have to be able to beat any opponent stand in your way to reach your ultimate goal. So it doesn't matter who we play, as long as we play as a team, and play our hearts out, IMHO, we'll win any series no matter who we face in the playoff. One point to consider: since the Rockets have a tendency to play well against the very best teams, and play down and lose to the worst teams. It would be a great idea if we face the best teams, that way we will bring out our A game.
I seriously doubt the Spurs are scared of any team right now. They believe they are the team to beat, and after beating the Rockets without Duncun, I doubt they are too scared. Of course, that could work against them....
I'm still tihnking hard. Should I go down to the whitehouse to see the rockets in July or not. Must think on this some more. ok. Pretty sure I'm going.
Let's be honest here, guys. You guys don't know jack about where the Rockets will end up seeding-wise, no one knows, because it is too close to call. Let's face it, win or lose the Denver game, the Rox will STILL be uncertain about their seeding, depending on how they play the rest of the games AND the other teams (Denver, Kings) play their games. Nevertheless, IMHO, the 6th seed looks doubtful, mainly due to tie-breakers. The Rockets look like they are more likely to end up at either 5th or 7th seed. In both cases, the Rockets would be a big-time underdog against both Mavs and Spurs. This is precisely why you a team should never concern themselves with where they end up, and rather should concern themselves with winning one game at a time. That is the right way to do it, and JVG will make sure of it. Anyways, just enjoy the games, enjoy the playoffs this year, and know that this season is not the end of anything, the journey is just beginning
We have the edge in this game today. Denver had to play Friday in Denver, which the game didn't end until around 11:00 central time. Then they hop on a plane to Houston. We've had a few days off. We will be ready to play Denver!
So we could end up with No. 6 seed AND home-field advantage for the first round? That would be sweet.
There's a very slim chance. For that to happen, the Rockets and Kings have to win all their remaining games and Seattle has to lose all of theirs.
Does anyone know when our playoff games will be Game A and Game B? I know it says TBA, but can anyone give an educated guess on when our home games will be? I'm trying to buy tickets but I also have to see if I can drive from Austin to make it.
i had the same dilemma, and i studied past playoff schedules to determine this: there is a 75% chance that game A is on a friday, the other 25% is that its on thursday. the past two years 3 series in each conference played the third game 6 days after the first, with the other series game 3 being 5 days after the first. i bought tickets for game a, because i knew the odds were in my favor, so i completely disregarded game B. that will probably be on sunday, monday, or tuesday.
Outside of the Rockets, the playoff matchup I wanted to see was Denver/Phoenix. Too bad it won't happen in the first round. I keep forgetting which brackets face which but I believe the #1 seed won't face the #7 seed unless they meet in the WC finals.
