He is never on the same level as Kobe on the defensive end throughout his career...

As I have said plenty of times, even when TMac was in Orlando that he could have been the best player in the league if it was considered only on skill. I do believe at the time he was the better than Kobe, but what seperates great players from Hall of Famers is heart, fire, passion, determination and the will not to let your team lose which Tmac don't have any(maybe the last one). MJ wasn't the greatest because he could score, he is considered the greatest because of all the things he did. He never quit on his team and Kobe has those same qualities that is why he is better than TMac. IMO, TMac would be a HOF if he had those qualities, but he will just be considered a great player that didn't have the drive to win it all.

they need to take his salary,
give part of it to Barkley cause Les screwed hi over the last year

and give part of it to Maxwell cause he never got that contract extension after the championship year

Those two guys deserved it for what they did.

    Tmac deserves Ryan Bowen's salary

At 21 mil/yr McGrady is obviously overpaid.. Comparing Kobe to Mac shouldn't even be a thought. Mac definitely is a very talented basketball player, but he doesnt have half the work ethic that Kobe does.
I don't like Kobe i think he's arrogant, but there is no denying he is out to prove the world that he is the best.

Hell at this point I would take Mac with the work ethic of Scotty Brooks. No knock on the "Energizer Bunny" just a tribute to how much he gave out there.

I am not convinced that Mac loves the game of basketball.

You're forgetting T-Mac has led the NBA in scoring twice, one season averaging 32.1 points, 6.5 boards, and 5.5 assists on nearly 46% from the floor, 38% on threes, and 80% from the line. I don't care what anyone says, that is an absolutely phenomenal stat line. I know individual performance means nothing without success (see Allen Iverson), but that is one of the most remarkable season stat lines EVER.

As Shaq has pointed out, he has never won anything without Shaq. And as much as I hate T-Macs recent comments about what could have been if he played with Shaq and if he was in Boston instead of Pierce, its the truth.

He's had teams that he should have been able to get out of the first round and he couldn't do it and that is the truth.
