Cool that TMac & Yao get up there. But this is proof again that Fox is not a reliable source of sports...or any other news for that matter. Shaq at 10? I'd put him, AT BEST, ahead of Manu at 28.
I would rather play Garnett over Yao at the end of a close game. Yao is deadly at the end of a game but I would trust Garnett's defense over Yao b/c Garnett is more versatile and could better guard players who penetrate the lane. Also I would trust Garnett to get a rebound more than Yao, whether its an offensive or defensive rebound.
1. Duncan 2. Kobe 3. Deron Williams 4. Yao 5. LeBron 6. Kevin Garnett 7. Nash 8. McGrady 9. Dwight Howard 10. Tony Parker And the top 5 are the ones I'd want at the end of the game.
Some idiot posted "How can Yao be over Mello? ..Please" lol Call Denver and tell them Yao was available....see what happens. They would asking when and where do we want Mello and change delivered too. Not a knock on Mello, because I believe he's the 2nd purest scorer in the league, but he's not a dominate force. Each year.....Yao becomes more and more dominate and more valuable. Soon....I believe he will be on top of every list.
cmon, let's not hate on the dude. melo may not have an overall game, but he draws a ton of double teams. so you'll thikn he'll be better than kobe/tmac/bron/wade? i'd love to see that happen w/ yao but i have to see it in the playoffs. i saw the yao v. the spurs last yr in the reg. season many times. he was a superstar. he was the early MVP. but then struggled in the playoffs AGAIN. if he dominates the playoffs this yr, then he could be close to the top of the list. . if he struggles AGAIN (doesn't matter if we lose or win), he won't be regarded very high.
Who's hating? I said that Denver would trade Melo and change is a split second for Yao.....they wouldn't think twice. There are probably two teams that wouldn't trade their top player for Yao....Cleveland and San Antonio. The Lakers would be on that list, but Kobe WANTS out and so...yes, they woud take Yao in a heart beat. Do I think Melo will be as good as Kobe/Wade/Bron/Tmac? Yes, if he wanted to be.....He'd have to become a complete player and make his team better. He's already a better scorer than Wade/Bron/TMAC, but being a better scorer doesn't make you a better player.
