I'd rather have somebody better, but I'd be happy if we ended up with Dalembert. I'm hoping we'd also have Chuck on the roster.

As for his value, an asset is worth what somebody will pay for it. The price for centers is a good bit higher for the others, it just is. I seriously doubt that Dalembert can be had for the MLE.

I don't mind Dalembert. It's obviously not my first choice, but I don't think there are many other options. Plus he is a nice guy.

I'd rather Morey go all out for Asik. If Asik was projected to be as good and have the potential he has now he'd be a top 10 pick.

To trade up for that kind of talent means giving up at least one lower lottery pick and one or two more low first rounders.

Keep chuck and tank. Too many darn good players in draft to spend money on crap. Save it for what it's worth. It definitely is not Dalembert. Garbage. Why do we want to settle for mediocrity. I don't see us getting Dwight Howard. I don't see us getting Chris Paul at all! Morey and Co are not going do tell the public to buy tickets for a losing season cause we are going to tank. They are going to tell us something positive like during the Steve Francis years. That big guy from u conn looks very promising. Davis from Kentucky as well. Nene, Chandler, Dalembert are all a waste of ticket holders money. Garbage!

You guys are crazy. A rebounding, shot blocking defensive center in the NBA would command more than just the MLE. And many teams will pay that and more cause they're such a commodity. Dalembert is still a very good center that can help us with rebounds and stop some layups. He's not my 1st choice over Nene or Chandler but he is a more realistic option.

FINALLY we have a guy that wants to play for us and he is a CENTER which is just what we NEED. Everything seems to click, what else do we need right? Dalembert has a better track record than NeNe and Chandler as far as health is concerned. He is a legit double-double + 2 blocks guy. Although it was contract year, he played really good towards end of last season when he was given regular/consistent time. He had some monster games.

If we offer him MLE he will just choose the HEAT. HEAT will win a title with Dalembert. He is definitely worth more than the MLE, he is worth Brandan Haywood money.

The guy is decent, can put up 20+, block shots and rebound and definitely cheaper than Chandler. I would take my chances with him, cannot stand another freaking season without a shot blocking center!! Maybe Dalembert can get to Thabeet, they can battle during practice. Nene, Chandler and all the others are too expensive, if he's reasonable with his asking price.

In the late hours of free agency Morey will feel like a drunk desperate man at the bar and finally ask the fat chick if she wants to come home with him. Although I'd rather just play Thabust.

Totally agree. I am hesitant about Dalembert; however, i don't think i can watch another year of Houston getting their ass kicked in the paint. We played so well as a team last year, but we could never really cross the threshold of "dangerous team" because if we played a 7 footer with any skill at all, we were powerless to stop him. We are a playoff team with a decent center; i really believe that. That is not to say we are a contending team with a decent center, and i am not interested in mortgaging 2012 free agency just to get a "decent center".

I like Dalembert at no more than $7 mil per, 4yrs $42 mil. Ideally you'd like to get him at $6 mil per, but i'm sure that in either event Bima would say that this will kill any chance of being players in 2012 free agency. If so, it's not worth it. If not, then I would strongly consider signing Dalembert.

Also Dalembert averages 2 blocks and 8.5 rebounds per 27 minutes over his career. Those are excellent numbers although i've never thought he was a good post defender. Maybe McHale can work with him on that. He seems to excel in the parts of the game that we need help in.

Only if Dalembert is cheap. To be honest I would rather have Chuck. Both is good but if between the two give me Chuck.

Yea! this is what i'm talking about. No one will answer our problems at C, without crushing our cap flexibility as well as Dalembert.

    Lowry/Flynn
    Martin/Lee
    Budinger/Morris
    Scola/Hayes
    Dalembert/J. Hill

    Flexibility!

I wouldn't object ot the idea. If Dalembert is signed to a reasonable price (probably something like a $7-8 mil starting salary, a bit higher than MLE, but not the level of the "top guys"), perhaps there is room to bring back Chuck Hayes as well.

I love Chuck, I don't want it to seem like I think anyone taller than 6'6" are a better option than Chuck. However, maybe a slightly higher than vet min and a short contract with a team option wouldn't be a bad deal for Dalembert, a decent starter, but a great backup if we land Nene, Gasol, Jordan, or Howard.

Chuck and Sam together would be a good defensive combo
