I can say it with 100% certainty. Our team relied on Hakeem dominating his matchup to either score or get a teammate an open look. If you can dominate freaking Pau Gasol or an old Karla Malone, I'm pretty damn sure you couldn't dominate the Knicks frontline, David Robinson or Shaq. If you can't stop Amare from hitting you up for 30 a night or Dirk from going bananas like he did in 06, then I'm pretty damn sure you couldn't check David Robinson or Shaq for a series....since ya know, we kinda relied on Hameek to hold those guys as well. So yes, I'm pretty certain Duncan couldn't have led us to titles in 94 or 05 because he can't churn points and he isn't as good of a defender. You may have an argument with the 95 team since Drexler was able to create his own shot...similar to some of the wings Duncan has played with...but I still don't see him being able to contain Robinson and we only won that series in 6 with Hakeem doing just that.
