I would have liked to have seen 10 minutes of Brooks on Terry, just to see what he could do. Terry was killing us.

So with a brand new coach, new offense and new rotation players they almost beat the team many consider the best in the NBA? A team whose core has not changed over the last few years.

I would say that means the Rockets have a shot at being a very elite team once it all comes together.

The problem with McGrady is that he thinks taking over means TAKING THE MOST SHOTS. That is so far from the truth. Taking over means making more GREAT BASKETBALL PLAYS than the other team. If it means drawing the defender and handing it off to your teammate for the open jumper (Jordan to Kerr anyone?) then so be it. Nash didn't win 2 MVPs because he is a 30 point scorer, it's because he makes THE MOST CORRECT BASKETBALL PLAYS. And the right play last night was to drive and score or drive and dump to Yao. If McGrady drives more, then the opposing team has 2 choices: Leave McGrady 1-on-1 against his man to the basket (advantage McGrady) or have Help Defense come over to stop the drive which opens up a dump off to Yao (advantage Yao). Basketball isn't that complicated. I would take this "motion offense" over our current RA "motion offense" anyday and twice on Sunday. Now I have watched McGrady the last few years, and all the TOFs will probably disagree, but to my eyes, he has definitely lost a step. So for all of us who gets frustrated about McGrady not going to the hole, the truth might be HE MIGHT NOT BE THE PLAYER ALL TOFs CLAIM HE IS NOW.

I personally think Dallas make a decision at the beginning of every game to deny Yao the ball no matter what. 9-12 FG just prove this point. Yao gets a double every time he even comes close to touching the ball. And we on this board know for a fact that Yao struggles with double teams, especially ones with small guards and quick hands like JJ Berea. They have his number some what I reckon. T-mac had 8 assists last night. He was passing it, no doubt about it, noone was hitting their shots thats all. I do agree that Battier needed more plays, the guy can score and get the foul.

This jackass only comes out of his cave when the Rockets lose, which judging by his very pasty skin, hasn't been much lately.

How about the multiple T-Mac to Battier or T-Mac to Luther plays that we have seen the past 2 seasons? People have ripped T-Mac a new one the past few seasons for not taking over games and passing the ball...now with Adelman he has been given the green light to get a lot of scoring-friendly situations and the green light to shoot. It helped win them the game against Utah, and helped lose them the game yesterday. In yesterday's game he kept them close by getting to the line and keeping defense honest, and then lost game by missing jumpers in the 4th. When you have scorers like Kobe, VC, Pierce and Arenas, you will get the 12-31 nights along with the 17-27 nights...get used to it. At the end of the season, IMO T-Mac's FG % will be the highest since joining the Rockets, and it is a good bet his PPG will go up as well, along with FTA. I like what T-Mac is doing out there...he has torched the likes of Hassel, Kobe and AK-47 off the dribble, and has looked very athletic and strong going at the rim. But when the defense is collapsing and he is forced to take jumpers, a streaky scorer like him will have his fair share of 45pt games along with 8-25 games.

Last night he did do this...he got Yao many open jumpers and dumped it to Yao a few times down low. Bottom line is Avery wanted Yao a non-factor, and he did just that. When Houston tried to throw it way up to Yao when he was under the basket, the more athletic Diop and help defenders simply tipped the ball away. When Yao was in post position, the double team kept coming, and with the shooters and slashers ice cold, no amount of reposts would have done anything. Yao did his job, which leads me to...

The role players have to play better. They have to make smarter decisions when it comes to Yao or T-Mac passing the ball out of double teams. Last night James was 4-13, Wells 1-7, battier 2-6, Scola 0-2....they need better production from them for things to open up for T-Mac and Yao, who I felt both played well yesterday until the 4th quarter.

It's not that his skin is pasty, it's just that it's covered in white fur, like a polar bear

Also, to be fair, it was the only NBA game last night.

His analysis seems to be accurate in a way. But never the less it's still a young team with sfamiliar faces in the offense. We will rebound in better way down the stretch.

His analysis is usually accurate. The problem is that he uses it to jump to bogus conclusions. When he states that the Rockets will have to take drastic measures to hang with the big boys, he doesn't even say what they are. Now here we are a day later and the Rockets have beat the precious Spurs. You won't hear a peep about it either from Rosen. This guy always knocks the Rockets. He has just become more subtle since JVG left.
