Which is why I think he did it just for controversy, and those are the worst type of writers. I want someone who gives me their TRUE opinion and does research, not someone who is only in it to "stir the pot". He's hoping someone get on him about the race thing, then he'll start up a controversy about that. The guy is useless.

he says barkley never played defense, but Rodman is number 7

...I guess he forgot about Rodman pulling a Rasheed and leaving Horry open in Game 2 of the 2005 Western Conference Finals

This guy's lists are terrible. Schayes and DeBUSSCHERE over Garnett, Barkely, and Hayes? He bases there lists on who HE likes personality-wise, not on the best players. I feel ashamed for even commenting on this article.

Charles Barkley is either the number one or two power forward of all time. Anyone who has a list of the best power forwards and doesn't list Charles is an idiot just trying to make a name for themselves.

    Or spit on him.

Barkley not making the list is pretty ridiculous, but I don't know if he is automatically top three. You may feel Mchale is overrated because he played with Bird but I would argue he's underrated for the exact same reason, just like people argue that Pippen is. Barkley has him on rebounding but a lot of people feel he was an underrated defender. Bob Pettit, Dave Debusschere, and Dolf Schayes, honestly most of aren't old enough to know. All those guys played on championship teams, and Schayes carried his team. The only guy on that list ahead of Barkley that I can definitely say is flat out ridiculous is Rodman, and all those missing the cut.

I don't mind that Barkley didn't make the list (though I don't agree with it)...

What I am upset about is that Dennis Rodman is ranked #7 and the opening sentence for the justification of his ranking states "...Dennis Rodman was the ultimate role player."

Hmm... Shouldn't the #7 all time PF in the NBA should be something more than a freakin' role player. This is the worst ranking ever.

Scottie Pippen was just a role player as well and he put him at number 3 all time at Small Forward.

These lists are intentionally contraversial so people will talk about them, thats all.

This in no way is serious sports writting.

Too many whitey's on that list. He's obviously racist. It doesn't matter what his reasoning is for his choices.

Barkley had was a fundamentally sound player. That he wasn't is a misconseption.

    from topfive:
Don't dignify Rosen as an idiot racist who can't see straight. He's worse; an oppurtunist that tries to inflame people without any regard for equity.

Fundamentals? Rodman had fundamentals? Rosen is stirring the pot for his own gain and this (and the sf list is complete) bs.

Elvin Hayes was my first hero, and he would have torn up McHale with speed and muscle if they were at the same age. Similarly Dr. J would have probably kicked Bird around pretty good had they been rookies together.

I don't care that Rosen bleeds Celtic green, and I don't care if he is a racist because he's an idiot. As racists go, I say the dumber the better. Being an idiot, or a racist, isn't a crime, and it's been my experience that stupidity isn't that hard to take down.

The trouble is, most think that the rings are everything and you see it here all the time. It's simply insane.

Look at Oscar Robertson's career line and tell me what more he should have done other than win more rings. He was both Bird and Magic before they came along. But he was pre-ESPN, before the diss culture and guys like him and Russell, Wilt didn't complain about racism: They purposefully beat it, on and off the court.

Regarding Barkley he's a stand-up guy and he's given Malone his due, and he's challenging Duncan which I respect. But Kevin McHale at #2 is an insult to anyone over 40, period.

Just take it with a grain of salt. Rosen is a guy that really has nothing going for him other than riding Phil Jackson for everything he's worth. Nearly all his information comes from him. He's fairly pathetic, to the point of adopting all of Phil's opinions and grudges.

Loves to death anyone associated with Phil's teams (with the extreme exception of Kobe, and to slight degree Shaq - refer to the grudges thing).
Hates with a passion anyone that was a Phil rival (JVG firmly lies here).

He's got a professional level of understanding for the game (not that he could coach above the CBA level, even as an asst.), but that typically takes a backseat to his bitterness towards certain players.

i think it was pretty obvious that when i said 2nd i meant 3rd...

ok so apparently i was wrong, but i know i've read that second place thing before. however, that site seems pretty comprehensive so there's no doubt they're right.

what i did discover in trying to look it up at basketballreference.com is that that site is now called databaseBasketball.com or something and as i was scrolling through some profiles, they didn't have that thing at the end where they list all of their top 10 finishes in every category for each season (including MVP votes). since i can't believe they would just get rid of that info and since i'm terrible at finding stuff that's right under my nose, someone please tell me i can easily link to that info somehow. i loved checking bballreference any time i needed a quick look at a guy's career. it still has the HOF monitor which is based off those top 10 finishes and leading a category so it must be there somewhere.

i may have to kill someone if that is gone.
