Well if your willing to stay mediocore just so your "favorite" players can be here then that says what type of Rockets fans we have.....

Bosh is a better player. Morey get'er done already

Oh how you put it so nicely thad.

But seriously this says it all. Scola has done much more with his extended role and makes so much less.

I have to admit I was on the Bosh bandwagon last year as many of us all were, but Scola has shown his true value in this young season. And the great thing about it is that his success on the court doesn't have him relying on his athleticism and he can kill you inside or out, unlike Bosh.

I have to thank 00rocketgirl for putting me on. She convinced me this summer that Scola was the better choice out of the two.

It's too early to discuss this...I don't think Scola or Bosh can be traded yet. I do think that Morey would talk this over, but I don't think it would be as simple as Scola/Jeffries for Bosh. I would want to try and get rid of one of the PGs in this too, maybe pick up a shooter like House, draft pick (if they have any) or involve a 3rd team.

In this scenario, I think we can get a lot more out of Bosh then Miami can. We lose rebounding giving up Scola, but I think we gain a bit in shot blocking and running the motion offense.

Really though, if Miami wants to trade Bosh to us, they'd be better off going for something like Hill, Lowry, and Battier/Jeffires over Scola/Jeffires. In some ways, that's better for the Rox too. We are fine at PG since we would still have 2 good PGs, and not have so much salary tied up there. We'd have a big rotation of Yao/Bosh/Scola + Miller/Hayes for spot minutes, not too mention Paterson. You keep Battier/Jeffries at SF depending on who you keep rolling Lee over when you can. Really though, if you lose Battier, you look to move Jeffries for another SF.

I admit as well that I was on the Bosh bandwagon last year and still think he could be the piece that puts Houston over the top if surrounded by the right personel, but right now Scola is playing better basketball, no question.

Bosh needs to be focused more in their offense for him to truely be effective. Lebron and Wade have the ball in their hand 95% of the time and both are looking to penatrate and kick out to a perimeter shooter. Bosh is a post up big that needs the ball in his hands. So the only points he is getting is basically garbage buckets. Later in the season Bosh will be featured more in the offense and his numbers should go up dramatically. Lebron especially is going to have to change the way he plays to make that offense work more effectively.

That being said Scola does still enough value to bring in the star player that Morey and the Rockets are really looking for. Scola for Melo is a more likely deal I could see being made, but that is a discussion for another thread.

Cannot see any reason to help Miami and to hinder our team.

Surprised that somebody doesn't want to trade Chuck for Bosch. I don't but somebody will.

    You people are dellusional.

Bosh is a better defender than Scola
Bosh is a more versatile scorer than Scola
Bosh is a better shooter than Scola
Bosh is taller and more athletic than Scola
Bosh gets to the line more than Scola
Bosh fits our offense much better than Scola
    Bosh is younger than Scola

Scola has a better post game than Bosh
Scola gets paid less than Bosh

There is a reason Morey was so aggressive in his pursuit of Bosh over the summer. The Rockets would pull the trigger on a Scola/JJ for CB4 deal so fast it would make your head spin.

Maybe it's time to lay this issue down to rest. Scola is playing very well for the Rockets without any side issues so I am all out in support for him. I hope the rest of the Rockets fans would do the same.

No, I wouldn't do it with Yao still having the realistic possibility of being close to what he was before he went down in Los Angeles. I seriously doubt Riley would make the deal, either, without knowing far more about Yao and his future potential, except for one thing. Yao's expiring contract makes a gamble more attractive. If he continues to become healthier as the season progresses and plays at a relatively high level into the playoffs, then after what will probably be incredibly diffficult negotiations with Yao's team over the contract details, you keep him (and that applies to the Rockets keeping him, as well, although I think they'd have an easier time of it. Yao's a very loyal guy). If he ends up struggling to play significant minutes and/or to stay on the court, you can use take advantage of a very large expiring contract.

So having said that, I wouldn't right now, could change my mind, and could also decide some other player would be a better fit with the Rockets than Bosh, since we'd still have Scola in that scenario. In fact, why on earth would we want both Bosh and Luis?

Not for Scola, but for battier, jeffries, hill and 1st rounder. They send us Bosh and James Jones. Bosh will be a better fit with Rockets.

Seems like a pretty good buy low/sell high move to me.

I said it even before Bosh went to Miami, Bosh is not even a top 50 player in the NBA.

    No thanks.

    Slight fix.

Bosh wants it to all come easy. He has zero interest in doing the dirty work: banging down low, crashing the boards, bodying up on D.

I wanted him (for cheap) over the summer, but seeing how pitiful his effort and intensity is on the Heat....no thanks.

He's got the tools and talent to be amazing, but he doesn't want to get sweat on his jersey.

It would be fun to dig up that Bosh thread, and see how the tunes are being sung now versus then...

No way in the world that the Heat trade Bosh, unless he starts whining like a little baby. Hilarious that someone is already talking about breaking up the big three. Just goes to show you that having one, two, or even three "superstars" on your team won't make all the fans happy.

DD I remember you were against the Bosh for Scola deal. So far, you've proved your case real nicely. :thumbs up:
