Production per dollar, Scola is much better. He might even be better if they were paid the same. Add to that that he is one of my three favorite Rockets players and that he sets a tone on a team by his hard-working, hustling style, and it is a no-brainer. Keep Scola.
Bosh would be averaging 30 a game with us. That said, he had his chance, and I simply don't want him. I would rather find a young center to develop, or a stud PG/SF.
I remember a time a couple of months ago when many of you scoffed at my idea that bosh gets traded away before the season's end.
Scola cant defend tho. As well as he's playing, his defense has just as terrible. It looks as if he doesnt even try sometimes
Do not want. I was not a fan of going after Bosh and this is why. He's a slightly better Brad Miller. It's amazing to me how few "analysts" saw this weakness. For what it's worth - the guy in the OP's article is spot-on.
In fairness to Bosh there is only one ball..... And Scola is far better at getting extra rebounds and buckets by playing either on the ball or off of it. Bosh is talented, but as I said this summer, not worth a max contract, and certainly not much better than Scola if at all, when you consider the price you have to pay. Scola can slide in and out of so many roles, and still be effective, those guys are like found money ! Simply gold. VIVA SCOLA !! DD
LMAO. Just because a player is your favorite, dont make him better than what he is. Bosh is a better overrall player than Luis Scola. Dont get crazy here
Bosh isn't max salary talent in the first place. He's certainly not going to make us much better than we are now. No thank you.
Not by much... Especially when you consider the cash, the durability, and the ability to mesh as a roleplayer. And the fact that LUIS SCOLA IS A FREAKING MACHINE! 2007-82/10 and 6 2008-82/13 and 9 2009-82/16 and 9 2010-6/23 and 12 People think far tooooo much on Scola's age. I guarantee you that he will be putting out double-doubles for years, while Bosh's gimpy knees will Stacyfi him. SCOLA HAS JUST HIT HIS PRIME! WHAT A FANTASTIC CONTRACT BY DARYL FREAKING MOREY! Now we just need Yao to hit his prime, and we can have a 5 year run at endless glory! Where's the MEAD! Where are the WENCHES! JUPITER'S **** WE ARE IN BUSINESS!
Again, dont get crazy Let's be honest, both dont play defense well. Both have midrange games, with Bosh having more range. Bosh is quicker, more athletic and more flexible and able to play multiple positions. Scola is a better rebounder..... Bosh's numbers are drastically down due to him PLAYING WITH 2 SUPERSTARS. Just imagine him playing a up and down Adelman ran system with shooters. Not to mention he can slide over to SF
It comes down to this for me: Bosh wants it to come easy: refuses to play center, disinclined to bang down low, doesn't find ways to contribute, no pride on defense. Scola puts on his hard hat and gives it everything he's got, no matter if he's over his head or not. I want the right kind of guys in our locker room, or at least a guy that's going to dominate if he isn't a hard hat type. Not losers like Bosh, who'd almost certainly sulk about being traded away from Team MTV to a city he didn't even sniff at during the summer.
Bosh can not play Center. Bosh can not play Small Forward. That much was proven in Toronto. Luis Scola has a far superior post game, ALONG with the face up jumper. Can Chris Bosh post up with his back to the basket? Can Chris Bosh post up with his back to the basket? Can Chris Bosh post up with his back to the basket? I don't care about Bosh's numbers. Quick and athletic means crap when you have a plethora of scoop shots and an unstoppable jump hook. I'll take the weight, the intelligence, the "old man strength", the footwork and the hair...
Wrong, wrong and WRONG.......... First off, if we can play Chuck Hayes at center and still be effective, then ANYBODY can do it. Secondly, I'm not saying Bosh will play the majority of minutes at center. But he can step in and spot Yao until Yao comes back in. We would run teams of the floor with our 2nd unit. Lowry Martin Budinger Hill Bosh or Ish Martin Budinger Hayes Bosh Simply let Chuck defend the opposing center while Bosh switches on offense. Our starters............. Brooks Martin Battier Bosh Yao Honestly, YOU DONT NEED ANOTHER POST THREAT NEXT TO YAO. Yao clogs up too much of the paint for another post player. CONCLUSION:This is not about favorites. It's about who fits better with team. If Miami offered Bosh for Scola (or Scola w/ Jeffries) Morey would be an IDIOT not to take that deal.
