Dagnamit, just when I was about to retire this sig, they keep pulling me back in.

But the answer to this thread's question about trading for Bosh with Scola is a resounding F--- NO!!

I was one of those who was against signing Bosh citing Scola's play last year as the reason why, and early into this season, Scola has only been looking better while Bosh continuing to suck.

Bosh is a vagina. So what if he put up good stats on a bunch of ****ty teams? He never took them anywhere. He is highly overrated and overpaid.

I agree Miami isn't going to do it right now because it's way too early in the season to panic plus they can't trade Bosh until after December 15th anyway.

However, if they keep dropping games and fall behind Boston, Orlando, and Chicago in the standings I could see them making a trade before the deadline because they can't afford to sacrifice this season with all of the media hype surrounding them.

Whitlock is absolutely correct in his assessment of the Heat and in order to make an impact trade they would have to trade one of the "big 3" and Bosh is the only logical choice. It was obvious after Miami signed all 3 of them that they painted themselves in a corner in terms of the dealing with the salary cap. Ultimately, you win championships by protecting the rim and the Heat have no post defense. The only way the Heat can seriously improve their roster this year is to trade Bosh. So from that stand point it isn't an unrealistic scenario.

I always suspect Bosh is overrated. I remember watching a game of Raptors vs the Kings last year and he doesn't do much...and nothing stand out as impressive. He was sort of a just a another guy out there.

Not me. I always thought Bosh was overrated. Some of the best trades are the ones we don't make.

Wow the train wreck in Miami is alreeady under way. Bosh got destroyed by Millsap. He must feel like he ate a whole bowl of the hottest salsa and just got back from the can after emptying it out. Cause Milsap just tore that behind of his up. Milsap isnt even that good. I am so glad we didnt get this guy. Butter soft.

The column is bull****. The dude carries on about the Heat needing defense and toughness. Well, Luis Scola is toughness in spades, but his weakness is being average on defense. While I agree that Luis would be a great fit in Miami, he's not bringing defense.

As for the trade, I've always said I'd trade anyone on the team in order to improve it. I've always been for the Rockets first and the players second. It'd be a close call for some guys I can think of, but there you go. Before this summer, I would have been all over this Scola/Jeffries for Bosh thingy. In the Worlds, Scola took the game he displayed after the Landry trade and turned it up a notch. So far, he's kept it going. Bosh has struggled. If Luis had gone through a camp with Wade and James, he'd be kicking ass right now. I'd rather keep the guy who keeps kickin' ass. Besides, he's my favorite player.

    Viva Scola!!

If I were Pat Riley and I am considering trading Bosh to Houston, the guy I'd ask for is Yao Ming.

Great post Deckard, agreed with everything you wrote. Thing is Bosh is a jump shooting PF, that's not what the Heat need. He's struggling because he's been asked to become a post presence, but that's just not him. Scola can play in and out, so he'd fit better, but is still not the missing ingredient for the Heat.

Bosh's margin of return on investment would be much lower, what our team needs is a superstar wing player who can take over games when needed. I like Martin but he doesn't come through in the 4th quarter, which I think is a much bigger flaw than his defense, considering our teams needs.

We are seeing the beginning of the "Morey curse." This curse goes on any player who rejects Morey's recruiting drive; the following year their game turns to suck. First Gortat, now Bosh. More proof that Morey did a deal with the devil.

The only ONLY thing Bosh has on Scola is age... But Scola's game is one that probably will age pretty well.

Stop making so much damn sense!!

Since you asked the question, would you swap Yao for Bosh if given the chance? I'm not sure myself.

imagine a healthy yao at 5, haslim, lebron, wade and who ever
now that would be a scary line up.

I think Bosh is playing on the wrong team also. It'll be interesting how this shakes up. Bosh is another scorer and go to guy as a face up PF. The Heat really don't need that, they have plenty of that from Wade and Lebron.

If they had a guy to really get it down low to and let him work, it'd be much better. Like a Luis Scola...and while Scola isn't great on defense...he's still a rebounding machine, something else the Heat have had problems with.

It's too bad the 3 amigos didn't think this through before they planned their little super team years ago. Looks like they shoulda teamed up with Howard.
