Best thing to do is let them crush themselves with 6 years of these huge contracts. They arent getting past the Celtics and Magic. Not beating the Lakers. Miami can stay at that number 3 spot in the East for the next 6 years or however long it takes for Wade to get his next injury. They locked themselves into a long path of unmoveable parts and no money wiggle room to do anything about it if it fails.
Didn't want him last summer. Don't want him now. I'd rather have scola than bosh everyday of the week.
Bosh went to the Heat because he thought that team could win a championship. Whatever else you think of the guy, I'm pretty sure desire to win isn't his problem. Assuming we could work the money, I'd do this trade in a heartbeat. Bosh is a top 10-15 player entering the prime of his career, and 15 mil is a good deal for his production. I love Scola's hustle, but he's already 30, his body has taken a pounding, and he doesn't have the offensive versatility Bosh has, not that Miami would ever propose this trade to begin with.
Despite Scola playing in beast mode, I'd do this trade. I feel that this team desperately needs star power and an identity. Yes, Bosh pissed us all off during the off season, but he has the potential and can be our franchise player. Plus, it'd be cool if both our PFs looked the same.
I think the writer made a mistake by considering trading Bosh because of the points Okafor scored.... Defensively, I don't think Scola would have done any better.... Regardless of how tough Scola is.
Still??? Lineup? Yao Bosh Patterson Martin Lowry Alot of athletes, shooters, some defense, alot of rebounding, passing? Miami? Better lineup with Lebron, Wade, and Scola. These guys are in love with each other though. Had dinner and talked about sweet sweet love all night long. Now Lebrons throwing out his list of people he wants to kill and Bosh is suffering from third wheel syndrome. Thats actually afunner world for me. NO TRADE NOW BOSH! Your stuck with your butt buddies.
Didn't read it, but I've been saying the Heat would be scary, very scary with Scola and Battier or Lowry (or possibly all 3). Way more championship ready than they are now.
Doesnt Bosh play center for Miami? In which case Scola would pose the same problem Haslem faces, he's not 7 ft and can't play center. But if they were to offer Bosh for Scola and Jeffries, I'd truly consider it.
i dont think this guy realizes how different Scola and Varejao are...if he's saying bosh is soft, as in not playing d, then Scola isnt fixing that for miami.
Bosh is a great player, just in a rotation that doesn't fit him. Due to LBJ and Wade both being bad 3pt shooters, most of their games take place inside the perimeter, which is where Bosh plays as a PF with a soft touch. It also doesn't help that LBJ and Wade need the ball in their hands to perform well, taking away much of the touches that Bosh would normally get. If the team was just Wade and Bosh or LBJ and Bosh, you will see Bosh perform much better. With all the shooters that the Rockets have, Bosh would be a great fit for Houston.
Hmm... let's trade away our toughest player on this team for a guy that's being labeled as "too soft" for the Heat. I mean, it's not like we're already ridiculously soft. /sarcasm In all honesty, no thanks at this point. It is painfully obvious Bosh never really cared for this team anyways, so I see very little point in trying to make a move for him. Well to be fair, I would put Millsap at #2 on the list of most underrated PFs.
Scola is weaker than Bosh on defense, and he struggles against the more athletic 4's,however he tries to do his best most of the time. Bosh didn't have a strong cast in Toronto, but he gave up on them. Luis won't do that.
Agree on the defensive tradeoff. Scola would not have done any better defensively. Scola is equally bad or worse on the Lamar Odom/Anthony Randolph types. Bosh matches better against those types of players. Heat would benefit from Scola's tenacity rubbing off AND another defensive player to round out the team, not so much a 1 for 1 Bosh/Scola swap. If both clubs have the same struggles 2 months from now, Rockets below .500 and the Heat not becoming a dominant team, itd make more sense for both sides to consider a move. This IS Jason Whitlock who doesnt mind mixing in a tad of controversy into his topics, but it is an okay topic to think of.
