Rockets are holding a 2:30 Press Conference today to officially announce the signing of Pike. Hope this is not the last one of the summer!

My point is that you were ignoring the facts laid out by the Rockets about the PF situation. What I did is point out that your argument rested on assumptions about KT. Unless you too are an "insider" that assumption isn't worth Jack. And you, in all your brilliance, should know that getting someone to agree doesn't validate an argument.

I know what you mean. I remember the first (and only :( ) time my thread made the hot topics on the CC.net mainpage.

Re. Piatkowski/Posey, Inside Hoops has a truly bizarre analysis of the Rockets. Basically, they're saying that the Rockets are trading defense for offense (fair enough), and to compensate, they'll run an Olajuwon-esque inside-out offense ... yes, they used the word Olajuwon!

"The Rockets' backcourt is going to have only one reason for existing this season, and that will be to set up the scoring big men who will be posting up on opposite sides of the basket. Yao Ming on this side, Eddie Griffin on that side. Either way you have a big man who is capable of scoring almost at will in the paint."

Francis haters will enjoy this bit:

"The inmates aren't running the asylum next season. Francis won't be deciding who gets the ball in the post. Jeff Van Gundy will dictate, Francis will carry out specific instructions. The way it should be."

They go on to say that with Griffin inside instead of outside, we will get more rebounds and blocked shots, compensating for Piatkowski's defense. Huh? (I guess when they say he'll be posting up, they mean on defense, too.) The whole thing is a little incoherent ... people might like to read it for an optimistic views, especially re. Griffin.

I wonder what JVG has up his sleeve on the defensive side of the ball. I dont believe that he has been coaching since the ZONE defense has been made legal. With Yao, Cato, and Eddie in the paint, a nice 3-2 or variation could surely be possible.

The "facts" I never disputed. The facts (in fact) stated that all three of them were complaining about PT, not just KT.

All I said is that there are several cases where many coaches would just bench one player rather than view that as a must-trade scenario. I said that we could have done that.

I you did was view that as someone disagreeing with you, and you wrapped up your little piddly counter argument by pulling out the big Ace Cards No one here really knows anything.

You pulled that Ace Card against a stated opinion...not a person claiming fact or even rumor.

The other fact is that you did try to lecture me about posting my take, using some excuse that it is my M.O. to disagree with in-the-know people. And that was your assumption, and not true. I've never questioned Doc Rocket, and you simply have no clue what my posting relationship is with Popeye.

All you did was see someone disagree with you (and i didn't really, I just said what I believe) and you chose to go outside the argument to make some bull**** point about posting styles.

just talk basketball. make your case. and don't make assumptions about people's M.O.
