This was a nice move by the Rockets but the west is so tough I don't see the Rockets being any higher than 7th in the conference. Spurs- Added Turk,Mercer Lakers- "Dream Team" Wolves- Spree,Sam,Kandi Sac- Brad Miller to go along with outstanding offense Dallas- Flat out a better team Blazers- Still a better team than the Rockets Im glad we finally got a shooter but im just not that excited about the upcoming season.
Solid acquisition. I would have preferred Jon Barry (better defender, can play either guard spot, JVG-type that hustles from the time he gets out of the lockeroom) but Pike is taller and can swing between 2 and 3. The team needs solid role players like Pike; more important, he can hit the outside shot and is smart enough to move the ball on the perimeter and play the inside-out game.
Piatkowski is a solid pickup. Last year, Mobley was logging ~42 minutes a night, and it took its toll on his ankles. Of course, this doesn't really solve our problems at backup PG and SF, where we still have holes.
Piatkowski has always been listed as a G-F. I think Piatkowski will be playing 20+ minutes per game backing up Cat and Rice if there isn't another move in the works. j
why should we sign piatkowski? it's totally his fault we missed the playoffs last year. if you remember he made a bank shot against us in the last few seconds of one of the clippers games. we miss the playoffs by one game. if he had missed that shot we would have made it. i don't want this schmuk on our team. what the hell are we doing? hehe, just kidding. we need a shooter but i really hope this isn't our big signing of the summer. he should be a good fit because rice is streaky and boki cant seem to shoot.

This isnt good at all, if Patiwoski starts...we dont have a PG or SG, or SF who plays any defense...I think i would have rather kept Posey because he does the intangibles like plays defense or rebounds...Even Walt Williams would have been a nice pickup at the veteran's minimum to just shoot threes
I've never liked the way Pike shoots. He has funny mechanics, but I guess he's made it work and should be a decent role player for us. The good are getting better and we've traded defense (Posey) for a some better jump shooting. We've got to do more.
Piatkowski is not a legit NBA small forward. Clippers fans who have watched him for the last 9 seasons will tell you that fact without hesitation...
This is good news, now hopefully the Rockets add another forward like Russell or Stephen Jackson or even Jimmy Jackson.
