The powers that be seem to want to rid this board of intelligent discussion. How better accomplish this than excluding MacBeth and keeping TJ around?

Yes Basso in your world posting the results of a poll that does not favor your candidate, without commentary, is the work of a troll. That's the problem with so many Bush supporters, they're offended by reality.

Ohio's 6th district court has overturned the lower courts ruling and now both parties can have observers att eh polling spots.

I'm sur eyou will all hear "disenfranchised voter" and "Ohio" about 10,000 times tomorrow.

Yeah! Well, war is pretty serious.

So chuckie you're okay with someone coming up to you tomorrow and asking where you live so you can vote?

Yeah I'll have my ID with me along with a copy of the phone bill. That's not too much of a hassle.

Specifically what the lawyers are looking for is people who show up to vote at the wrong precint (to make sure they haven't already voted elsewhere) and to check ids of those who had their voter registration cards returned (here in Ohio a letter is mailed out 2 weeks before the election saying hey you're registered and here's where you go, but a suspicially high percentage of new registrants was returned as no such address or that person didn't live there).

Again they are their to prevent fraud not to "disenfranchise" anyone.

I know what you're hear is the liberals claiming "disenfranchised voters"

But honestly Mark if you had 100,000 new people registered to vote and 15,000 of the confirmations were returned as "Not a deliverable address" or "Addressee not known" would you really feel good about letting those 15,000 vote without confirming their identity and residence?

    You're right chuckie. That's why I said we’d see.

But there could be very innocent reasons those 15,000 were returned.

College students, families displaced by spouses being overseas in the military, people losing their homes to job loss and foreclosure.

I don't see the problem with TJ. I like his posts. They are usually funny. Granted he is a troll, but he trolls so blatantly that it doesn't seem offensive 95% of the time. Occasionally he will cross the line and say something offensive to veterans or about the 9/11 tragedy.

I don't know what JAGMacBEth did to get banned, and his posts never bothered me either. I may have missed it because I think MacBeth and some others would get into more heated discussions, and I would usually stop reading those.

What I am really wondering is where has rimrocker been? I read that he thought he was banned, but I haven't seen him do anything close to getting a ban. He almost always had informative, and well reasoned posts.

I don't understand any of that stuff either, but I can only assume we're not privy to some information regarding them, because I don't remember seeing anything ban-worthy... especially from rimrocker.

I would like to see them both back, although MacBeth could sometimes "suck the air" out of a thread, if you know what I mean. I enjoyed reading him, even when I was looking for oxygen. ;)

rimrocker's pretty sure he's banned, though he has no idea why. He's emailed to ask, but hasn't gotten a response. Same as MacBeth. I miss having both of those guys around here. Major too.

I heart Jorge too. Place wouldn't be the same without him.

I miss all those mentioned who have gotten banned. More importantly, I know they miss me: The Beacon of the Plodding Truth.

I learned something from all of them.

Maybe we could have a Banned-Aid event or something....

    :D
