Steve saying that he is going to have to "make a personal decision" and will "have more to say about it later on".

Whatever the hell all that means ......................'

I can't believe Steve is really going down this road. He should have said "I am sad to see Rudy go. However, whoever our coach is, we will play our hardest for him and hopefully win a title"

Francis said he was shocked to hear about it and "how it went down" whatever that means.

"It was hard for me to believe. For me, hopefully, things will hopefully get better. I will have to talk to coach before I make a decision about anything," Francis said.

When Berman asked what decision, Francis said, "Personal decisions - I'll let you know a little bit later." When pressed if this will effect his decision to stay with the team, Francis replied, "I wouldn't say that."

He said he has not thought about who the new coach will be. He just hopes it will all work out.

Important note: he did NOT sound like a guy who was going to demand a trade and the very fact he wants to talk to Rudy tells me that how he feels about the whole thing will ride very heavily on Rudy's words. Since Rudy is a Rocket first (and still considering he will be a "team consultant" according to Berman), he will likely diffuse all of Francis' issues.

Look, as I said before, Francis is a bit of a hothead. He doesn't like these sudden changes. He actually sounded calmer than I expected.

I didn't like what I was hearing from steve, especially as much as I defend the guy.

5 will get you 10 that it turns out to be a decision about which new shoe he's designed should have his name on it.

Francis comments seem pretty reasonable to me. I feel bad for just about everyone involved.

    Jeff,

On a lighter note, did you notice what old Ray Patterson was wearing during his interview???? Thats right: knee high tube socks with the old Rocket orange and red rings around them .

    Classic!

No, I say that because as emotional as this has to be for him, he didn't say things like he hates Les, he wants a trade, and at the same time it's clear he has real attachment to Rudy. For him to talk to coach(I thought maybe he meant Rudy for advice, and how the organization treated him in this. Steve probably won't leave, but if it turns our the organization secretly screwed Rudy and Rudy T warns Steve not to play in that kind of organization then might bolt.), let things cool down, and see how it feels.

I wouldn't expect anyone to say that it was no big deal, and he can't wait to see a brand new coach running things. It's a big deal. It takes time to absorb, and it's an emotional process.

ok, sorry. I thought it was me because you said you didn't like what Steve said, right before I said I liked what he said.

SF justs shoots his mouth off when he gets emotional, before he thinks about what he is saying. He is also expressing his loyalty to the coach who didn't make him work too hard on his game, and run all those insane wind sprints and things. Also, I'm sure they enjoyed a few brews together late night after games and such.

Now he is thinking about having to start over to mold his new coach and train his new coach on Stevie Franchise way of running the offense. In other words: Option 1 - Me, Option 2- Dribble until I'm open, Option 3 - make a stupid pass while I'm in the air that nobody could possibly catch, Option 4 - Since the shot clock is running down, go back to Option 1.

SF ain't goin nowhere, he knows where his future is, and it is here with Yao.

What the hell is this clown talking about? The only decision he should have to make is whether he is going to devote 10 hours a day this offseason to learning how to play a glimpse of defense, or 11 hours. If only Steve Francis could somehow figure out why Steve Francis keeps leading his team to the lottery

Maybe Steve should have played better if he didn't want Rudy to get the axe...

Steve has always worked hard in the off season, his workouts have not been lazy at all. The part of the game that Steve may not work on as hard as he needs to is the basketball IQ portion.

Props to Codell for spotting the retro tubers on Ray Patterson. Dude pulled those out of his 1994 drawer. Frayed at the top and sagging, 2 championship red & golders!

    Classic!

Maybe if he and the rest of the team played a little better, Rudy would still be coach.

Talk is cheap. He loved Rudy to death, he should make the playoff the last 4 years. Then Rudy can keep his job. Too bad that Rockets missed playoff year after year.
