You don't think Cat is willing to sacrifice for the team? That's only what he does every season.

That's right. This season, for instance, Cat sacrificed the much greater assist numbers he could have had if he had simply passed to an open Yao on the pick and roll instead of dribbling into the double-team and flinging up an off-balance fadeaway.

    Just kidding (well, not really).

I doubt that he and Cat will be willing to play sidekicks to Yao. Until they realize that basketball is a team game and let go of their huge egos, I doubt the Rockets will go anywhere no matter who the coach is. By the way,
any news on who the new coach might be????

The TRUTH comes from the mouth of 'trungvo'. The question I ask is- Will we judge the new Coach on how long it takes him to realise this fact and how quickly he rectifies the situation? After all this is the main stumbling block as to why its difficult to go forward without team chemistry.

There is only one thing I have to say...LES AXLEXANDER IS THE WORST owner in the NBA, and probably one of the worst owners in pro sports....i dont know if you remember, but he tried to shut down this website, to eliminate competition with rockets.com, and now he is screwing up anything the rockets had going for them...the best thing he could do would be sell the team...he blows

I'm pretty sure it was the NBA that tried to shut the site down. Clutch has stated many times before that the Rockets organization likes this site and sees it as a good resource to determine fan interest and opinion. It is one of the reasons the VP of marketing posts here.

Also, I would take Les Alexander over Donald Sterling any day of the week.

    OUTITAN -

Sorry for not responding immediately to your diatribe about my math skills, but I actually have another life away from the board and hope that you do as well. ;)

Thanks for the lesson in statistics - but I could truly care less. I am the first to admit that math is not my strong suit, so in the future, I will opt to make my case in prose rather than numerically.

My primary point has been made over and over: Jason Kidd is a FAR SUPERIOR "PG" and "Player" than S.F. and I should have just stuck to results in the Win/Loss column. If I do again tread into the unfamiliar "math zone", I'll make sure that I have done my homework, and that I have consulted the math gods (No, that doesn't mean you...) to make sure I won't offend the sensibilities of all the Beautiful Minds that make up a statistically insignificant portion of the CC.NET posting universe!! :D :D :D

Next time someone does not immediately respond to your obesessive-compulsive stream of consciousness post, I'd advise that you not jump to the rather bizarre conclusion that the focus of your obsession is "hiding out"!!

Finally, if your going to keep riding Steve's jock, I would advise you to begin asking for compensation, because it's apparently become your full-time job!!

    Have a nice day! :) :) :)

I didn't assume you were hiding, someone else said that...

I couldn't care less if you care less about math, just don't use it to make a point if you don't understand how it works.

I have no problem with the claim that Kidd is a better PG than Francis, never have. Though I think Francis is more explosive and am looking forward to what the next coach (Brown) does with him. Its been my opinion all along that we needed a new coach, not new talent. We'll find out if i'm right next season.

Don't get in a hissy baby, take a look at Dr. of Dunks sig. I'm not b****ing about that am I? I made a typo and got busted for it. My journalism professor would have given me an F back in the day so a little good natured ribbing is no big deal to me...

Defending my players against the emotional ignorance that runs rampant on this board pretty much is my full time job. I'm retired at the ripe old age of 29...

outitan :- Are you taking into account that Larry Brown could be coming to town as the Rox Head Coach?
If so, dont you think he will be able to deduct and acquire information that might enlighten him about what has been going on with our players last season.
He seems to have an inquiring mind but limited patience with players that dont listen and perform as he requires them to do so.
Do you think that without any additions or subtractions that the present Roster would still be intact by the end of season 03/04. Or might there be casualties from the battle of dominent wills?
Is there any chance that Larry Brown being so experienced and wise, that armed with offseason Roster information. he might eliminate such a potential battle of wills by Trades and or Signings, before things get going ?
Or do you think that he will just arrive and get on with it, the best he can, and go from there?

    Yetti,

I fully expect to see brown on our bench next season.

As for him trading away strong willed players I believe he's got enough of an ego to try to change them first. Why didn't he trade AI? He won't have nearly the fight with Steve that he had with AI.

Also, I never said no one would be traded, my statement was that with the talent we have now a good coach could get us to the playoffs. We've got plenty of dead weight to dump before we can go deep in the playoffs. I don't believe we'll be breaking up the backcourt unless Brown suddenly changes HIS opinion that SF and CM are legit all-stars and belong at the olympics.

My its the system not the talent sig refers to the terrible offensive system we've been running for years. Also, if the Rockets coaching staff was telling the guards to play one way and the guards were playing another then I blame them for not having the sac to sit them down...
