This is what scares me...they might be trying their best and it will never get better.

Definitely, this team is in a lot of trouble. But they need to keep thinking about what to do to get better on the field, instead of thinking about silly marketing gimmicks.

I understand that. But there are many others who think the Texans should've chosen Bush or Young for no other reason than they would've generated interest. That shouldn't have been the slightest consideration. Now, maybe they were/are the better on field options too... time will tell. And yes, the product they're selling sucks right now.

I just wish everyone would drop this silly marketing business and think about what we need to do on the field to improve.

cat, no one thought they should have chosen bush or young simply because they would have generated interest. it was one of a few factors...but the biggest factors were that these 2 guys rocked college football last year. most of us had never seen mario williams play a down of football. i certainly had not, and i watch quite a bit of college football.

winning sells tickets...being exciting sells tickets...neither is not compelling...not even a little bit.

But you're hearing that a lot now, Max. Regardless of who we would have taken with the first pick, we'd be 0-3. I hear people here and elsewhere say it would at least be a more exciting and marketable 0-3 if it was Bush or VY who were here instead of Mario.

What does that matter? 0-3 is 0-3. I doubt we'd be happy with our defense giving up an average of 495 yards a game with a couple extra highlight runs or a hometown guy playing QB for a couple series.
